Well, when you say "Shows how much you know" to women who've had children before and are informing you that in order to truly be full term you are 40 weeks along, you came across as rude yourself. There ARE doctors that say full term is any time between 37 and 41 weeks, but there are even more that will tell you why delivering closer at 39 or after is better for the baby's development.

You posted on a PUBLIC forum, and that means people are open to give their opinions and say what they'd like. So, you can ignore the comments you don't like, or get mad at every single one of them. Personally, I say suck it up and move on.

That doesn't mean you should immediately start trying to go into labor. Look it up smartass. Your baby matures at its own rate, and will signal your body when it's ready. That's when labor happens. Quit being impatient and f**king relax.

It's a good thing it's not up to you then. I hope she stays put until at least 40 weeks! :D

Hunny don't listen to them! It's YOUR child and YOUR body do as you want... I'm almost 38 weeks with my 2nd child and im trying to start labor too mainly because I have been having contractions for 5 days now about 6 mins apart and im dialated a 4.... Dr. told me to bounce on a yoga ball, take long brisk walks, mainly stay active. I will tell you thou that these things may not work if your body isn't ready. But it doesn't hurt to try. At 37 weeks they won't stop your labor if you go into labor but they can't do anything themselves and usually won't try till at least 39 weeks. I was at the hospital this past wed for 18 hours in early labor and they sent me home... :( She'll come when she's ready but you can still try.
With my first son, we went swimming, then had sex, then walked for 2 hours and I had him 5 hours later and I had him right at 38 weeks... I wouldn't do Castrol oil thou... it has terrible side affects. yuck.

Wow I'm not long after you! And my husband has been taking me for long walks and I'm always on my yoga ball lol I'm just so anxious to meet my daughter and would never do this if I thought it would hurt her, like you say there's no harm in trying and this is my first pregnancy so I'll try swimming! I've eaten pineapple and stuff but need to try raspberry leaf tea :) I'm just fed up with the things that come with pregnancy! But I've decided if she's not her by my due date I'm going to schedule a sweep on the second of april for the 9th I think :) x

I went 42 weeks I was due on the 8th of Feb. had her via C-section on the 22nd due to her size (Came down to just her head being 14 inches around), and the doctor being afraid she'd get stuck if I went into labor or got induced. I had two broken ribs, severe anemia, my hips inverted instead of separating and had been grinding together since 28 weeks or so. I was absolutely miserable. But if I had gone into labor, and they proved this after she was born, she would have gone through a lot of pain, gotten stuck, possibly have broken shoulders. She could have gotten stuck and my placenta could have detached suffocating her etc., There was a reason she wasn't sending me into labor on my own. So don't push it. And all that pain aside. I miss being pregnant. And definitely wish I could get my month back, so I could sleep more than I did. I'm not here to argue term or full term, but the inducing yourself, even with the simple natural ways. I tried walking and all I did was make myself really really sore and swollen. Just sit tight :/ it sucks. But you do sign on for 42 weeks when you get pregnant. no matter what term or full term are considered now a days.

Our situations are completely different. I have had extra scans because I'm carrying a bit more fluid than normal, my baby is growing at the normal rate and is healthy so there's no harm in me wanting her here.. My midwife gave me the choice of a sweep 2 days before my due date because not all babies come on their due date but either way I'll be happy when she's here :) and sorry to hear about your pregnancy.
