Its possible that its a little bit of inconsideration.

Did you tell him that you were looking forward to a quiet evening at home with just him? If we go off what you said in the OP you told him, no problem just going to throw some things in the crock pot for dinner it will be done tonight.
That to me says your dinner wasnt going to be anything fancy you can eat whenever. I'll just be home chilling.

Some people you have to be more direct with and flat out say I want to spend time with you tonight, please dont make any plans, I'm fixing dinner it will be ready at X o'clock.

Quoting kthx.:" He said I'm controlling, and the fact that he HAD to come home and ask me if he could go out if bullshit. ... [snip!] ... bullshit. Woah... I didn't MAKE him come home. I knew nothing of these tattoo plans until HE came home on his own free-will."

I have really irrational feelings when it comes to my s/o and him wanting to go out if I had already planned on him being home with me. It shouldn't piss me off but it does and I like need to sit down and count to ten.

I don't know, I know it's stupid but, I understand where you're coming from.

Quoting kthx.:" This is what I had planned on doing tonight. I'm tired.. I had gotten 2 hours of sleep last night before work. I'm still tired. I wanted to spend a night with him. "

I mean. I get being bummed out, I do. .. but FUMING PISSED OFF seems like an overreaction, and then it going so far as turning into a fight is a bit juvenile. Like I said, if it were me, I'd put the crock on low and go have some drinks or something with a friend.

Quoting Mayhem.:" I wouldn't be pissed, but it'd make me sad. I'd talk to him about it, but I wouldn't make a big deal of it. I'd just tell him how I feel and explain why I was disappointed. "

That's more of what I am.... disappointed. Of course I didn't slave over a meal. But he's lucky I even made ANYTHING. I was dead tired when I came home... but decided to throw together what I could before passing out so that he didn't have to eat chili dip or a chicken patty for dinner

More of an effort than I put in half the time.

Oh you're hungry? There's frozen pizza in the freezer.

Quoting kthx.:" He's still home. In the bedroom. Moping like a 5 year old."

That's the part that would drive me insane, no point in staying home and then moping/whining.

That's dumb. It's polite to tell you his plans: I've JUST managed to get SO to let me know when he's working late or staying at work for a drink.

I mean...you don't normally make dinner?
So this is like, an abnormal occurrence? If so, I'd pretty much expect him to have planned on being home for it.

I legit think he just wants to have reasons to fight until he finally feels justified enough to leave. Because he's just been being a prick and it's childish and really stupid.

Yeah, I did. He got out of the shower and saw me on the computer (I had been lying down in bed). He was like... You're not tired now? I said I am, but I was looking for a recipe for dinner. Wouldn't you like dinner tonight? And he laughed and said yeah I guess so.

He knew I was making dinner for us tonight. And now his excuse for wanting to leave is that I need to do dishes, laundry, and clean... so he doesn't want to sit here bored. WAIT. I have to do what?!

yikes ---- yeah i'd say you're being pretty friggin crazy, LOL!

its a few things in a crock pot -- not a full 5 course dinner that you slaved away at all day.

you had to eat dinner anyway, its easier enough to heat up later.
