Is this a stupid place to get married? The Master 2 kids; Perth, Australia 19989 posts

I've been looking around for places for a ceremony etc that I can pay off via payment plan before the wedding rather than trying to find the money in one hit. The zoo in the city does wedding ceremonies for small guest numbers in their botanic gardens.$1300 (not including dress or suits) ... and my mum is going to throw in the money for caterers that we're allowed to have in the main parkland in the zoo.

What you ever consider getting married in a zoo ... or is it just a bit too unusual?

honestly, its a bit unusual, but if its pretty and big enough for what you want then go for it! :)

I don't have much family and SO has no family over here ... so its actually one of the few places I could find that didn't have a 60 guest minimum.

We only had about 40-50 at ours i think.

If its what you're happy with then do it :D

we'll have closer to 30 at the ceremony ... if we decide to have the reception there to we'll have to try and bulk numbers up to 50 for the buffet.

I think it'd be pretty cool. But, I'm an animal lover and from your post it seems the ceremony will be held in a botanical garden, right? That is probably beautiful with all the flowers and what not. I'd go for it if YOU and SO like it and its practical.

It's certainly different but it sounds pretty cool actually.

It is very different, but sounds really cool! If you and your SO like the idea, go for it. It's your day and no one else's. :)

My aunt almost got married at the zoo until she realized that she wanted a wedding in Jamaica. Destination wedding.

But I think it's honestly an awesome idea. (:

I think it's a super awesome idea, especially if their is a beautiful place like a botanical garden! A lot of the decoration will be done for you and it will be a great conversation piece for guests.
