Breaking p90x in 2 sessions? One proud mommy! 1 child; Mechanicsville, Maryland 268 posts

I just started p90x but don't have a solid hour to exercise with a 4 month old who only takes 30-35 minute naps like 3-4 times a day. So I was wondering is it okay to break it up or will it make it pointless to even do it? I already wake up at 4am and my son doesn't go to bed until 11:30pmish. I really wanna loose a decent amount of weight I'm 5'5 and about 170 so I want to get down to like 130-145 so I have a long ways to go lol! Also just wondering for anyone who used p90x how many months until you noticed a difference? And how long until you lost 20-30 pounds(if you had to loose that much)

I don't see why breaking it up would be bad. You're still doing it. Any exercise is better than none.

I would say no, only because when you stop the first time you are not cooling down first, an when you start a second time you would not be warming up.

Is there someone who can watch you little ones while you work out for an out like you SO?

That's what I was thinking I just did half(the baby woke up as I was finishing up) nd the dude said not to take too long of a break so I was just making sure I'm not wasting my time! I plan on the break only being about an hour ish maybe?

I'll start off with the fact that I'm in week 11 now with 2 weeks to go.

I don't think there would be an issue with breaking it in two. But make sure you're warming up and cooling down both times. That's an important aspect to working out. I have lost nearly 20 lbs from the start to now. I started December 30th. In this time though I've also done the shakeology cleanse at the beginning of the program and have changed my eating habits. I was 171 in the beginning and am now at 154.4. I notice improvements in my ability to push harder and last longer in the workouts. I have lost approx. 10" total throughout. But to be honest, a lot of women need to do the programs twice through for the type of results you see on tv, or "wow" results period.
I'm doing the insanity program with weight training added in after I complete p90x in 3 wks.

And he says not to take too long of a break because you don't want your muscles cooling down and then you starting up again and hurting yourself. Also, cooling down is so important because your muscles can just cease up and get tight if you're my slowly relaxing and easing them out of the high intensity.

Yeah that makes sense. No he figures since he works he doesn't have to watch our son. He fights me not to go babysit every other day(for 2 hours) because we don't need the extra money but honestly I'm doing it because I like getting out of the house. He actslly got his dad to watch him while I was at work last Friday cuz he didn't feel like watching him for a couple hours! So I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to :p Maybe I'll just bring little dude with me and just put him on his mat and play with him on breaks! It's a little extra work but oh well I'm sick of feeling like a cow lol! :D

I was thinking about doing the same thing. I'm actually starting a shake thing gonna start eating some chia seeds(see where that goes lol!) and maybe throwing some Alli in there too :D

You need to sit down with your SO and talk to him about his role of a father. He helped make the baby he can help take care of it. I would be pissed if my DH did that.

Alli is really not good for you. Please do a lot of research on it before making that decision.

Breaking it in 2 sessions is better than doing no work out at all.

Definitely break it up.
