I went in for my scheduled induction on 06Mar at 7:30AM. The Dr inserted the pill to get things moving along in next to my cervix and I was dilated at a 1. Around 1PM the Dr came in to give me my second round of the medication next to my cervix and I was still a 1. After waiting for the pill to dissolve, we walked the halls and did some stretching. At 3:00PM I had just used the restroom and was up walking in my room when I felt like I had peed myself. My water broke! Soon after I was put in bed and started on Pitocin. I was dilated to a 3 now! Around 5:00PM I was feeling contractions and they were insane! I asked for an epidural and then I was at 5cm. I was able to rest for a bit and then the contractions started getting intense again and I was feeling all of them. They called in the anesthesiologist back in and he wanted to do another epidural around midnight. Come to find out something was causing his catheter to go in the wrong direction than he needed for it to go so my epidurals weren't working as effectively as they has hoped. After unsuccessfully trying for the 2nd time with the epidural, he finally got it on the 3rd time*getting that "poke" 3 times in one day was AWFUL* and then we were good as gold again! I wasn't feeling much and I was progressing to a 6. Come 3:00AM I was at 9cm and the nurse was prepping everything for baby!! The contractions were strong and I could certainly feel them. I'm certain the epidural had worn off again at this point. Baby was down low and right where he needed to be and I started to push. I pushed for 2 hours and they finally called in my Dr. Everyone kept saying "that's a lot of crown down there" so they all thought his head was going to be huge because it would not move down any further. He was stuck. At this point, I am in excruciating pain and the epi has worn off and I'm just breathing through contractions. Finally the Dr suggest we go in and do a c-section. Not our original plans, but I knew there was NO way in hell I could possibly push one more time. I just couldn't do it anymore. My mom and husband were both scared shitless and crying about the c-section while I was going through labor! haha I knew I couldn't cry because I needed to be able to breathe through all of this. So finally they wheeled me into the operating room and got everything all ready and my son was born at 5:33AM on 06Mar2013:) Weighing 7 lbs 1 3/4 oz. and 19 1/4 in. long. Not only was he NOT a huge baby, but his head is average size too! Just too big for my body, I guess! He is beautiful and perfect. Meet Ezra John Ayala:)
