I trust my OB so, so much but right now I am REALLY doubting him for the first time. My incision started pouring blood a week ago. Turned out to be a blood clot bleeding out. Fine. I've had some intermittent spotting from my incision but nothing serious. I woke up this morning, went to pee and was hit with this odor that was just wrong. I saw my opOB, he swabbed it for cultures and said it looks great, that the clot is still bleeding out and put me on some antibiotics just in case. Just now, I went to the bathroom and the incision smells even worse! I thought maybe it was vaginal, but when changing the dressing over my incision the smell got worse and it was completely saturated with blood. I feel like I'm going crazy. It's not supposed to smell, right?

I don't think so, I'm guessing foul smell means bad infection

That's like, the universal sign of infection. Any discharge? Is it warm to the touch?

Uh...is there any way you can get a second opinion?? That really doesn't sound right!

Just blood. Not warm, but severely bruised and there's a hole about the size of a pen tip that he noted. He keeps telling me this is normal, but now I'm sitting here with a massive headache and thinking "this can't be normal"

Yeah the smell alone would be enough to convince me something's wrong. I think you should try to be seen again or go somewhere else.

Not normal.... I went in because mine smelt just a lil funny just to find out I had a massive skin infection . I'd go get checked out, like now. Do you have a temperature?

If its not hot to the touch and you don't have a fever I'd call your ob in the morning or et a second opinion. If it is hot and you have a temp..ER
