Got to think grandparents did it to our parents and to us and we all turned out great!!!"</blockquote>

Also would you use a car seat from the 80's or heck put your kid in a car without one? Because our parents and grandparents did that too.

Quoting bama mommy:" Thats how I did my first and his fine and how I will do for rest of my kids. He gets it every other day ... [snip!] ... gets his milk I am not ignoring that. His hasn't gain a lot weight from it. Till I see something wrong not going to change!!!"

Oh well that's a good idea, wait for something bad to happen and THEN change, rather than trying to prevent something bad from happening. That's like saying I'm not going to put my child in a car seat until we get into a car accident.

Firstly the use of the retarded his high offensive. Secondly it was an example since your excuse for doing it was the doctor said it was ok. So obviously if the doctor told you to do something unsafe you wouldn't. Just because the doctor says so doesn't mean it's safe. And solids aren't recommended until 6 months 4 months is starting early and still putting your child at risk. Stop being a t**t waffle and learn to do what is medically as scientifically proven to be better for your child. There is 0 reason to start solids now. Why you are so against becoming educated and possibly admitting that you made an uniformed choice and doing better.

As I said, a lot of pediatricians that have been practicing for a long time just aren't up-to-date with the current recommendations...they're still going by the old ones because they don't know any better. Mine included; I just smile and tell him okay and then do what I know to be best.

You should read the sticky in this forum about delaying solids - it provides a lot of good information and addresses your "my baby and my mom and my grandma...etc" grew up fine argument.

You can start solids at 4 minths old. Suppose to be cereal in the morning, I have an outline of what I suppose to give him. I choose to start 1 dang week early. Yall need to stop jumping at me for what I for MY CHILD!!

4 months is the OLD recommendation. 6 months is the NEW one. Simple. Other than your BS excuses of so and so did it and they are fine you have yet to give 1 solid reason as to why you cant wait two more months. Whats the rush with solids?

Sorry I don't have to give you any reason why cause its none of your damn business!! I carried him and gave birth to him so his my child and I dont have to justify myself to you!!

If you truly felt you had a valid reason you would have no issue sharing that. But you dont. You are getting very defensive and if you truly believed you were doing what was best for him then you would have no issue sharing your valid reason behind it. However you dont have a reason other than the doctor said it was fine and you want to do it so you're going to do it. How would you feel if your child had life long health issues because of this? You can't predict the future and just because your oldest is fine doesn't mean he cant/wont develop something later in life either. You're right it is your kid and you do what you want but I have every right to tell you that your an idiot if you think you are doing whats best for him. He doesn't have reflux (otherwise you would of already stated that) So there isnt one valid reason for starting him on solids so young.

Quoting bama mommy:" EVERY PARENT DOES THINGS DIFFERENTLY SO STOP BASHING US CAUSE OUR KIDS DOCTOR SAID ITS OKAY FOR THEM ... [snip!] ... ITS OKAY FOR THEM TO START SOLIDS. I GIVE IT TO MY SON EVERY OTHER DAY!!! Which he told me is okay!!! BACK THE HECK OFF!!!!!"

So if your doctor said it would be safe for your infant to ride in the car without a carseat becuase there would be a minimal chance of getting hurt, you would?
