Quoting White Chocolate Milk:" I wouldn't settle for "something viral" that just sounds like a lazy doctor trying to make a quick diagnosis ... [snip!] ... to make a quick diagnosis to get you out. I'm guessing they didn't run test? I would want to know an answer for something."

They did the flu/rsv test on new years when she has pneumonia. When I took them in for the spots they had dermatology come down and look and they said something viral. Savannah's spots (my oldests) went away in a day or two like they said. Katy's (the baby) went away but then they came back. The look like big red pimples. Some even have a white head.

And how long has she had them? That kind of sounds like chicken pox. I have heard of some kids developing bumps/rashes after antibiotics or with an ear infection.

About middle of feb they went away the beginning of this month but now they are back. At first we thought they were bug bites. They are purely on her arms and legs not covered by any means just here and there The dont seem to bother her at all. She hasn't had antibiotics since the pneumonia in jan. She did have her 1 year vaccines on 1/31 though. This is what her sisters looked like but they cleared up. http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about2456283.html

Other than an RSV test and the normal ear check what other tests do you think I should push for? My mommy gut says something isnt quite right. Poor thing is just coughing in her sleep and so miserable and she is just getting worse and worse. I dont want to call her lethargic but she is getting very close to it.

Yeah those don't look like chicken pox. From things you've explained I would guess an upper respiratory infection of some sort. If they want to pass it off as just some virus find out the name of whatever they think it is and do some research to see if that truly fits what is going on. If it doesn't then I would maybe take her somewhere else like an urgent care. They may not specialize in pediatrics but from my experience they are pretty willing to run a lot of tests.

With our insurance it's doctor or ER. Our urgent care is actually run by regular doctors a d regular pediatricians do a rotation and its only for evenings and weekends. Thanks though I will push for some testing tomorrow

Those bumps look just like what my oldest got when we got this..my youngest never got the bumps.

What we have is viral.. I cant remember the name of it though. Our doc said he had it twice.

Yep diagnosis "something viral" She hasn't had a fever today though so yay. Her oxygen was at 100% no ear infection and no infection in her lungs. She is checking for a UTI (provided I can get her to pee in a cup..ha). On the plus side she has perked up some today. She is showing early signs of dehydration so we are really trying to push fluids today.

Yea now the oldest woke up with a 103 degree fever that neither Motrin or Tylenol can seem to keep down for more than an hour. It never ends does it.

Thats how my youngest was for like 4 days..

It really doesnt end. If it doesnt stay down by tomorrow she may have an ear infection. My oldest told me his ears hurts..sure enough..ear infection.

I wish all this crud would go away.. I feel like a leper. Cabin fever sucks too..
