Its not recommended but I know plenty of moms who have. The risk is if you get an infection. If you are going to do it just make sure its done in a shop and everything is safe.

Yes, just make sure you get it at a good place and make sure to follow directions on how to properly let it heal. But some places wont do it if your breastfeeding. If you are really concerned, you should probably ask your doctor to be certain.

My tattoo artist said to me she WILL NOT tattoo a pregnant woman but will a nursing mother.

No. Any reputable tattoo artist will not tattoo a women who is known to be Breastfeeding.

Just wait until you wean. I have been waiting to get my tattoos for YEARS because of pregnancy and Breastfeeding, and it's going to be a few more still. It can wait.

I got a small one when DS2 was about 11 months old. But, I went to the shop where DH has gotten all 7 of his and I had gotten my first one and I knew they were good and safe.

It depends on the artist. Mine will after 6 months because baby's personal immune system is stronger.

Honestly I'm sure you can but I would not. You always risk getting HIV and hepatitis. I wouldn't feel it worth the risk!
