Is there anything I should be taking as far vitamins other than a prenatal vitamin?

Hey Ladies!!

Ive been ttc'ing since May 2011. I have problems ovulating. My ob/gyn refered me to a fertility clinic. After months and months of trying to avoid it, i finally made the appoitment lol. I went to the fertility specialist on fri 9/21. She did a pap (which i was overdue) and a ultrasound to check my ovaries. Well she couldn't find my ovaries after poking me with that ultrasound stick for a good 5 mins (felt like years). She said i need to get a better ultrasound whatever that means. She also said because my periods started getting irregular i was gaining tons of weight she wants me to loose weight (which i have) i was 259 pounds and now im 230. I don't have a problem loosing more but i figured after i lost a lot of weight in the past 2 years i should of at least gotten preggers. My SO is also gonna be tested. It's a struggle and very hard because i do have two daughters so i know i can get pregnant. I've never had a miscarriage just premature births. I've also tried clomid 3 times and nothing happened. Any advice would be appreciated....wish us luck lol :)

Welcome! What does your RE suggest to do next? Or are you waiting on test results?

They are waiting on one blood work not sure wat it is but it takes several weeks...the rest of the blood work came out normal. I also have to call when i get my next period to set up a appointment for some other tests...i wish i had more info but i left the folder at home and they gave me so much info that day it kinda overwhelmed me lol

Yeah it can definitely be overwhelming. Not much you can do at this point except wait on the bloodwork. And keep trying naturally in the meantime of course. Do you temp/chart?

So 4 months after DH had his semen analysis our fertility doctor just told us that the problem lies with his little swimmers not swimming and having more deformed ones than normal. My HSg test (which was horrible) was normal, so minus my slightly off thyroid I'm fine. We start Clomid next cycle to increase our chances of hyper-ovulating and will be doing an IUI.

Has anyone tried IUI?

My HSG was horrible too. :( I know better and take Valium now. But yay for a diagnosis! Hopefully it will be relatively simple to work with.

Now I have to try to get a straight answer from Tricare about whether or not they will cover it.

Lucky you if they do! We have zero fertility coverage. It hurts.

It will really help you to understand your cycles if you do. It seems daunting at first and (for me anyway) it was hard to remember to take my temp every morning but once I got in the habit it was a lot easier. Eventually I got to the point where I didn't need to chart anymore because I know what my pre ovulation and post ovulation temps look like.

You should definitely using OPKs too. I imagine you're probably in the dark about when you're ovulating!

Inter-uterine insemination. basically DH puts his semen in a cup and they sort the good sperm from the bad and insert the good ones directly into my uterus.

Ours doesn't cover it either but theres a loop hole that says they will cover it if it is done at a teaching facility. According to Tri-care they don't even have it in there system as a place the cover for anything, which is funny since it's a military hospital and military insurance.

Is your next test the HSG test? If so take some good pain killers, they diffently underplay the pain. I have a high pain tolerance and they were literally holding my down to keep me still for it.
