<< I'm actually in the same boat but not getting induced because of high blood pressure, really only because I'm over my due date. I'm expected to get induced on Tuesday. I went to l&d a couple night ago for what I thought was contractions but come to find out it was nothing. Wasn't dialated or even thinned out at all. Still completley closed and long. Nurse said odds are when I go in on Tuesday I'll need cervidill to jump start my labor then pitocin. I'm really nervous about the whole thing and am a first time mommy.

Well from everyone's reply I will most likely go in for an induction. My 38th week is next weekend (The doctor told me she would most likely do it then anyway because she doesn't see my situation getting any better unfortunately) . Nothing sounded to bad from everyone's stories but I understand everyone different. I just hope mine goes some what smoothly lol. Yall have really helped me with being scared though. An brought some insight on the situation. Thanks :)

good luck mamas yae its unfortunate but do to you now being high risk they just wont chance you going past 39 weeks cause there is less they can do. hopefully with alot of walking etc you might go into labor naturally so you dont have to be induced but just set it up I think if your baby does not wanna be induced they will make a early entrance lol

I was induced at 38 weeks for Pre-E. They started my Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate (seizure med, because of the blood pressure being so high) at 7 am. They were afraid during my contractions my BP would get in seizure zone, so I had to take the Mag, which makes you feel like you have the flu. I was SO bored all day. I was progressing nicely and then got an epidural (still don't know why, I was out of it, and had said all along that I didn't want it) But, I stopped progressing. I had a C-section for failure to progress and my little girl was born at 8:22 that night. It didn't get too terrible till the very end when the meds were starting to make me sick. Mt little one was 6 lbs even and we were both 100% healthy. Would do it ALL over again in a heartbeat.

I had Pitocin and wasn't allowed to walk around but they were checking my BP every 20 minutes because it was so low.

If you have pre-e, or are suspected of having it, you need to be eating MORE protiens, not less (or none!)

I got cytotech to soften my cervix at 9pm. At 7 am they told me they were going to start Pitocin. At 8 I got the epi, they broke my water at 8:30, and he was here at 1:06 pm. My labor was quick. I'd probably do it again, except the pain of contractions were bad for me! Don't be afraid it will only make it worse. Just relax, and try to think positive about it all :)!

Well everyone I didnt have to get induced. My water broke at the doctors office while they where checking my cervix. I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because of my blood pressure but my baby is perfect and healthy and she came out quite quickly after I felt the need to push. but i was in labor for about 8 hrs.
