I can tell you right now, that isn't for an American school.

Absolutely, it is a great idea & would obviously be made age appropriate

Quoting ♥ darah ♥:" Me neither. It should be discussed openly IMO. The media talks about it, kids see it and then kids ... [snip!] ... get the idea that what the media portrays as real sex (unemotional, rape culture, male dominance, etc.) is how life really is."

I agree & it has to be on going. Some people have 1 talk and that is it.

I was like oh here's a little cartoon chart. Then I start reading the chart & I was thinking I don't think I want to elaborate that much yet.

Someone posted earlier idk where it was that sometimes kids are more comfortable going to a teacher than their parents so I don't see a problem with that as Long as I knew the staff were trained to answer developmentally appropriately. Plus I don't mind what I teach her being reinforced at school again as long as I know the staff are trained in how to answer appropriately.

Right. Many parents make the talk about getti g a one time convo out of the way. I don't think there needs to "the talk" mentality but rather an open honest relationship between parents and children. And as a parent if you don't know what to say tell you child that "I don't know how to answer that let me look into it and well talk about it tonight before bed" or something. Don't just give children bs blow off answers to make them not ask anything again.

At 5 I would base it on the child. My parents would have said similar to me honestly.

This looks interesting enough & the age range is good for my kid. The reviews are good

Sam freaked out cause I gave lylian An american girl book about your body. Well it kind of gradually gets more detailed and increases age appropriateness. Well there was a pic of a girl inserting a tampon (cartoon) and lylian turned to it and asked and he was mortified and was like "she can't have this book yet". I was like "why? The beginning is perfect, why we need to brush our hair and teeth, bathing, etc". So I should just hide the whole book from her because it talks about periods and crap that she has to learn bout anyway?
