Quoting crazy coupon lady:" You were talking about how its not right to follow them around for a bad choice they made as a teen, ... [snip!] ... a teen, I was just stating how it works here. How it does not follow them around their whole lives (here) if they are a minor."

A teen can be an adult, which is what I was referring to.

I wasnt talking about the last part of the post, just the statement at the top about how its not fair for teens to have it follow them around their whole lives. Just stating how it worked here thats all.

But it was irrelevant because it didn't apply to anything she was talking about.

It wasnt to me. I was agreeing that its not right to have something like that follow you around your whole life.
And was just stating something. But again here a 19 yr old can be with a 16 yr old its not against the law at all.

Do murderers have to be part of a "murderers registry", where anyone can get their home address?

1. Means they are unlikely to do it again. Thats why they arent posted . 2. Means possibly they may do it again or they may not. 3. Means. They will most likely.

What do you mean, people believe stuff like this? Idk what happy f**king land you live in, but when I look at fifty of the sex offender profiles in my city, and read that forty of the them are "sex with a minor under 14", that is not "dumb crap". You make it sound like everyone on the list is misunderstood and their all poor guys who didn't do anything bad.
And no murderers shouldn't be on a list, cause their the least likely to reoffend, according to statistics in America. maybe their not the same in your country

I'm in America and have first hand experience dealing with a multitude of criminals. Statistically sex offenders are only

Within 3 years following their release, 5.3% of sex offenders (men who had committed rape or sexual assault) were rearrested for another sex crime. - Bureau of Justice Statistics

Released prisoners with the highest rearrest rates were robbers (70.2%), burglars (74.0%), larcenists (74.6%), motor vehicle thieves (78.8%), those in prison for possessing or selling stolen property (77.4%), and those in prison for possessing, using, or selling illegal weapons (70.2%). - Bureau of Justice Statistics

I don't prefer one criminal over another, I just know what I'm talking about, and I find the sex offender registry to be pointless, especially when they have one of the lowest reoffense rates.

And you know what is the most BULLSHIT about most of those "sex with a minor" people?

The people who had consensual sex with an underaged girlfriend, not very far apart in age but get convicted because of pissed off parents. So a 15 year old girl with an 18 year old consents (remember, 18 year olds can be a senior in high school) and they have to register and you are snubbing your nose at them. A 14 year old with a 17 year old... you may think "OH MAN EW" but its TEENAGERS making poor choices and they have to register.

Yes. Although if the offender is underage it's not listed and I think it should be or warned one is close. We had a 17 yr old neighbor boy that kept coming around so we finally called the police to tell him to leave us alone, only to find out he was a child predator. I have 3 little boys!! It's no wonder he kept coming around!! It was a horrible time in my life...

This.
My parents could have put my husband on the sex offender registry and joked with him about reporting him. He was 18 and I was 16; age of consent in my state is 18.
