Painful sex again :( Noneya Business Due August 29; 1 child; Pennsylvania 11391 posts

I don't get why this happens :( SO and I both have high sex drives. Things were great when we first started having sex. Before I got with SO I was on a different type of pill and was dating a guy who's much smaller than SO. Sex was pretty good with him. Never had pain and had an orgasm during sex. We broke up and a few months later I started dating SO. I was still on the same pill that I was on when I was with my ex. The first time SO and I had sex, I had an orgasm. My pill was switched due to the fact that my pharmacy didn't carry the same generic.

Since I started this new pill, I noticed that if SO goes in too deep I'll get a quick stabbing pain that shoots through my vagina. It's only if he goes back to far though. I feel like I can't enjoy sex because both of us are scared it'll hurt me. I had the same problem with BD. He was also on the bigger side. I've changed pills so many times. Only one ever helped with all of my problems but it's not covered under my insurance :(

Could different pills effect my vagina enough to make sex painful? I've been to my doctor so many times and have been tested for everything at least 3 times. I'm at a loss that this is happening again.

When I was on a BC that had to high of hormones my cervix would get swollen and cause me to have painful sex as well as causing me to bleed a bit.

Sounds like it is your BC.

Edit..since I have been off of BC I have had no issues.

Sounds like he is hitting your cervix and the different pill "helping" was just a coincidence. Not sure how to help you from him hitting your cervix, though, aside from trying different positions.

Honestly to me it doesn't seem like it is your pill to blame it seems like it is more so just the bigger size of your sex partner. Certain pills can make your kooka drier which I have noticed makes deeper sex painful for me & lube is a quick fix but if dryness is not an issue & you really think it's the pill you should consider switching your BC. It's not worth it not be able to enjoy sex how you want & there are so many other options out there.

whenever i would get pain during sex it was because i had a cyst on my ovary. not trying to diagnose you but that is usually what caused pain in me during sex. or he may just be hitting your cervix and its irritated and bothering you. not sure but in any case i would go to dr and just see if anything is going on in there.

I'm definitely wet enough. TMI but some times I'm too wet. Idk if it's a cyst that maybe he's hitting. I've had a few in the past which is why I'm on the pill. The only pill that made them completely go away and controlled my painful periods isn't covered :( Idk if my doctor would be able to fight with my insurance. I just can't take it anymore. SO says in not a big deal and he's fine if we can't have sex but I know it still upsets him.

It was more off to the side, like my right side. I've had cysts before but my doctor said they didn't look too bad on the U/S. It was a quick, sharp pain. It lasted for 2 seconds.

Haha that's totally okay as far as TMI, hopefully it is not a cyst & I feel you completely as far as insurance discontinuing medicine coverage, the only pill that I could take without waking up in the middle of the night to puke out ( how my son was conceived) was a low dose hormone BC pill which my insurance no longer covers & since I am not ready to have another child because other pills my body rejects in the form of vomiting I am on the depo shot which made me gain 10 pounds :(
Do any other kinds of BC help with cysts & painful periods? You should maybe look into it.

I've seriously been on 30 different types of pills and nuvaring. Nuvaring fucked up my body horribly. I'll never be on anything like that or anything that stays in my body. Nordette was the only pill that work well for me. My skin was perfectly clear, I actually lost weight on it, my hormones felt totally in control, I have a high sex drive and my painful periods went completely away. The generics don't work for me though. And without insurance it's $200 something a month.

I hear you I've never tried anything like Nuvaring that stays inside of you & I don't think I ever could (it would prob mess up my body too) the pill you described sounds nice I almost wanna try it myself cause if I gain anymore weight on this depo shot I'm calling it quits but yeah my insurance prob won't cover it either I'm on Medicaid :/ you should try to see if your doctor can work something out with your insurance, I mean as far as cysts & painful periods I would definitely call that a medical excuse it's not like your just being picky

That's what my doctor said I could try to do since I've been on 30 different kinds of pills. I've even tried 2 different generics. I'll just have to call tomorrow. I'm tired of this pain :(

Yeah I mean it seems like it is affecting your relationship too as far as your sex life, not be able to have sex when sex should not be painful for you at all. I hope it all works out. & WTF is with pharmacies/insurances with this generic crap it might as well be a completely different pill cause half the time they do not work the same. Generic is only suppose to be a different brand not a different product but it totally is...

It could be one of the inactive ingredients that helps me. I was talking to the one pharmacist when I worked in the pharmacy. Pretty much the only things they have to match to call it a generic is the active ingredients. The fillers of the other just might effect me differently which sucks.
