So me and DH have 2 boys. My oldest was born at 30 weeks. Very complicated pregnancy. Magnesium, hospital bed rest, procardia (sp), home bed rest, pre term labor starting at 5 months. My youngest was born at 33 weeks with the same pregnancy issues. I also had a miscarriage in November of 2012. Me and DH are ttc. Him and his mom and dad keep telling me my next pregnancy will be different and I won't be as stressed, ect. But I'm scared. When I get pregnant again I'm scared I will have the same issues. I want to have a full 40 week pregnancy. I want a "normal" pregnancy. But I know with my history of pregnancy that probably won't happen... I know there probably isn't anything I can do to make sure my next pregnancy goes smoothly please let me know..

I can tell you that every pregnancy can be completely different. I had some complications with my second and third babies(preterm labor...had magnesium, bed rest, terbutaline pills, multiple trips to the ER and L&D). I had no complications with my first, except she was born at 36 weeks. So far, with #4, no problems, except some very minor spotting at 5 1/2 weeks that I have been told was nothing to worry about...it was implantation bleeding or something. If you think you might have complications if you get pregnant again, discuss them with your doctor, there might be something preventative to do before the complications arise. I am taking progesterone injections, but they were really optional for me. My doctor offered them, but didn't push one way or the other.

With my first pregnancy I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks and they were able to stop it. I had him at 39 weeks. With my second pregnancy I went into preterm labor at 32 weeks. I had them at 35 weeks due to one of the babies not doing good. With my third pregnancy I didn't have any preterm labor. I had her at 39 weeks and 4 days. I didn't think she was ever going to come out.-- You might be more likely to go into preterm labor but doesn't necessarily mean you will.
