I know they will give you soy milk. But I see alot of parents come thhrough where i work buying soy milk and they still buy cheese?? WTF?? Can't WIC substitute that for something else?? I have a WIC appointment tomorrow and am wondering if anyone else gets something substituted for cheese.

No they dont at least not here, my kid had to be on soy formula and they would still just give cheese so we ate it instead.

Here you only get cheese if your breastfeeding. My son had to be on Soy formula but did find with cheese and cows milk. Also they may have more than one kid.

Nope
They only switch out milk if necessary
They're really weird about things like that

My pedi. Also said most kids outgrow the milk allergy by one so while they might need special formula by 1 they might be ok to have cheese?

they gave me extra soy milk and added beans to my vouchers!!! my husband has a severe milk allergy and the pedi said its hereditary. They said she can finish out her soy formula still also. My son is lactose intolerant but can handle cheese, soy he's getting soy milk and cheese.

would you rather pay for cheese that gets thrown out? if i pt to not pick up an item off my wic check my case worker yells at me since the foods they provide are supposed to provide all the basic nutrients. even when she was a baby and they gave e food checks i would get them and give them to someone else that needed them since i made her foods and the only thing i needed the wic for was formula.
