I was just watching the news and they had all these fat kids doing a eating contest. Personally? I thought it was disgusting. Not only are those children way bigger than they should be but they are being encouraged to stuff their faces with food when they aren't even hungry :?

Yup, they are pretty fucking gross.
And people wonder why America has an obesity problem. It's because food is entertainment. There are other reasons, of course, but that's a big one.

With kids... I think it's gross. Because they really have no sense of what is healthy, exercise, etc. But when it comes to adults, they can exercise the calories off. The guy on Man vs. Food was exercising most of the time outside of the show. So I really don't have a problem with it when it comes to adults... they make the choice to do it, and then make the choice to exercise or not. Kids don't exactly have that luxury.

Healthy or not I really just think it's disgusting. It's such a waist of food. There are people all over the world that don't even get to eat every day. Why are we waisting food on contests?

I was just thinking that.
What would it look like to a person struggling to survive and feed their families every day? They must think," Wow, that pile of food would feed my whole family for weeks and these people are just stuffing themselves for entertainment."

Same could be said about anyone who doesn't finish their meal. While it's a nice gesture, I don't think anyone is too fast on sending food to third world countries. We see those sad commercials on TV, feel the need to help those starving kids, and then something else catches our attention and we instantly forget.

I see your point, but at the same time there is a difference between not finishing a meal because you are full and stuffing yourself until your stomach ruptures for "fun".
