I'm so f**king sick of politicians telling women what to do with their own bodies. It should be illegal to pass laws on abortion if you don't have a uterus.
I'd have been fucked, I didn't find out until 8 weeks. Politicians and religion need to stay out of my uterus.
I would say I'm pretty pro life, but in cases of rape and medical reason's such as saving the mother's life, it should be allowed every single damn time!!
I grew up in ND, there is only ONE abortion clinic, in a town on the MN border anyway.NO Planned Parenthoods at all in the state. Which means many times women seeking abortion are actually closer to a clinic in Montana anyway. So, really, they're just "making a statement" with these laws, it doesn't change much. You can just as easily-more easily, most times- get an appointment in a bordering MN or MT town. So, while I am against what they're doing, it's almost hilarious that they think it actually changes anything.
I was just searching to see if anyone had posted anything. And like the above poster said the ONLY abortion clinic is in Fargo, which is an 10 hour drive from places in ND in the first place.
The nearest place is going to be in the twin cities, they are also trying to get the abortion clinic shut down by requiring the doctor that preforms abortions to have hospital admitting privileges, which hospitals don't like to give out due to controversy.
Many clinics won't perform abortions until at least 5 weeks to begin with. It's only going to cause people to go to different states for the procedure.
Quoting Fatty McRunnerPants:" Wow, that's pretty nuts! I don't agree. I think the 12 week limit most states have is reasonable."
I know someone who got one at 23 weeks ...thats just sad to me. She waited til the last min too.
Quoting ★Mommarazzi★:" So apparently the state has now become the state with the strictest abortion laws. They now have a ... [snip!] ... they are pregnant before 5 wks. I'm pro-choice and while I agree there should be some cut off, 5 weeks is just ridiculous :/"
I think it's the closest they can get to banning abortion in the state without going against roe v wade.
I also think it's ridiculous because I agree with you a lot of women don't even know their pregnant until after 5 weeks.
Luckily I live in a Country where I don't need to worry about this. And am very thankful for that.
Clearly they're not bothered about the quality of life some of these babies will have. Disgusting. I can't believe they can even get away with it.
f**k these people. May every single fetus they save grow up to be homosexual liberals.
It's just mind boggling to me that we live in the year 2013 and this topic is even an on the table. There aren't more pressing issues to worry about, like perhaps taking better care of the kids who are going to bed hungry at night, getting them out of unsafe homes, providing them with better educations, making the adoption process faster and more affordable for those who want to make a real difference and give children homes.
I'm less and less convinced that anyone in the USA is truly "pro-life". I just see a bunch of theocratic nut jobs thinking they get some kind of moral credit for forcing others to do what they think is right. The same people would be the first to turn their backs if a woman forced into motherhood showed up on their doorstep asking for help. Bonkers.
I think I would had been screwed. I didn't even know I was pregnant at five weeks. That's ridiculous.
From North Dakota... it is f'n sad
So this was signed into law Tuesday? Yikes.
