What should I do?? *beck-i* {JAS08} 3 kids; Prattsburgh, New York 4808 posts

I am not good with confrontation at all but I really need to speak to my sitter about some things becuase she has really went over the line now. Yesterday she was closed but never sent me a message or let me know or anything so I could set up a backup. Well my 7 year old gets dropped off at her house after school everyday and he was dropped off yesterday with no one there!!! He was there by him self for over 2 hours until I got there after work. He was fine and luckily she left the house unlocked so he was able to get in but we had a big storm yesterday, he could have gotten very sick if he was locked out in the cold for over two hours!! I just don't know what to do this is not the first time she has done something stupid like this. We are moving and will no longer be using her after this Friday but I know I need to say something. We got lucky things worked out the way they did and DS did not get hurt or worse.

On a side note she is a registered daycare is this something I should report to help this hopefully not happen to anyone else?? I would feel bad putting this negative mark on her paperwork becuase she has bent over backwards to help me when I lost my assistance but I don't want this to happen again and I think she needs to be penalized for putting a child in harms way like that.

I would on this b***hes door so damn fast. U should put a negative ark on her record your child was dropped off there with no one there and that is HER responibility to let u know she is closed. Im so fired up over this, my son is 6 and I would be all over this lady. Im not sure who u can call or report to.

Im glad our school doesnt allow children that young to be dropped off unless someone is their in sight to pick them up. I would freak if i found out my kid was there for 2 hours alone, not like it was his own home. I probably would report it, she should of atleast called to let you know she wasnt gonna be around.

yeah and we got hit with a bad storm yesterday so we got really lucky!!! It could have been really bad if she had locked the door and he could not get in. I know who she is registered through so maybe I can call them and see who to talk to about this. I just can't believe she didn't let me know that she was not going to be there. I felt awful when I got there to find my little guy just chilling out all upset becuase it took me so long to get there. :-( He said he laid under the table with her dog for a while becuase he was scared. It breaks my heart.

he is 7 but he has severe ADHD and has to be watched carefully so that makes it even worse in my eyes becuase I don't know what he could have gotten into. Luckily he is a smart boy and just knew to stay put and not go anywhere. I am just so upset over the whole thing and didn't ever think think would happen.

Wow, I would be absolutely livid!!

No matter what kind of help she's given you, that is absolutely unacceptable and just ridiculous. Your poor little man was left alone for hours because she couldn't be troubled to let you you know she was closed? Outrageous.

I would not have a problem putting a mark on her record for that, no matter what kind of help she have. That is so dangerous and she's lucky he wasn't hurt or worse.

I have had the bus not drop him off before becuase she was not there and call me which is fine but her car was in the driveway so I think the bus driver thought she was there. I am going to call the school as well and see what the policy is about dropping kids off becuase I don't think they should have left him unless they could see someone was at the house. Not just becuase a car was in the driveway.

what really makes me mad is she let another mom know she was closed early that morning!!! So it is not like she didn't have other people to tell. Why didn't she just add me in on the message? Ugh I am so angry and have yet to talk to her yet becuase I know it will not be pleasant.
