Long story short, I worked for Best Buy in the state we're moving to from October 2010 til Feb 2011.
We're moving back in a month and I'd like to try to get back on.
I'm thinking, if I put in an application now, they'll see my name flagged as a former employee and pull my application, hopefully give me a call so I can explain what's going on, and schedule a phone interview hopefully.
Good idea? Pointless idea?

Nothing is pointless when you are attempting to pursue a job.

Worse anyone can say is "No" or "Not now". What does it hurt?

The worse they can do is say No.

I would call them right as you put in the application. let them know you loved working there and would really appreciate their time in consideration....or something cheesy like that, lol.
