okay so i am leaving for Ohio on Sunday (10 hr drive, prolly 12 with a 7 month old) we are going to be gone for 4 days, how many diapers should i take and how often should i stop to change DS? I mean obviously he's not gonna go the whole time without a diaper change should i just change him when he eats, every 3-4 hours? Or more than that, i dont want to be stoping every hour, but i also dont want him sitting in a wet diaper, sometimes he goes 3 hours without using the bathroom also.

Just change him as often as you would at home. You can always buy diapers when you get where you're going or just take as many as he usually uses with some extra.

Why change him any differently than you would at home?
I'd hope you aren't wasting diapers changing him hourly at home!

I always used the 1 diaper for every 4 hours rule and then pack 1-2 extra in case of poop.

When we had a mini vacation in san diego( an hour away) last week i stuffed my old diaperbag with diapers even though we were gone two days.just in case we had car trouble, stranded, anything i also packed a bunch of.clothes incase they made a mess.good thing i did because my youngest spilled red koolaid jammer on his shirt and chocolate, and alot more like bbq sauce from his chicken tenderz.those outfits came in handy.

god no lol, we'd be broke! lol, but i like to atleast check every hour at home just to make sure he's not sitting in a wet diaper.

we buy the big packs of diapers at Sam's Club, so should i just take one of the sleeves in the box?

I just went to PA for 5 days. My son is 12 months and we didn't even use a whole pack of diapers. I would just pack like a pack of diaper, but bring extra clothes!!! :)

yeah i plan on packing plenty of clothes, DS has days where he decides to just be a drooling mess or decides to make the most god awful mess he can with his cookies and can go through 4 outfits a day, plus i am having to pack for multiple kind of weather because it says its suppose to be in the 60's while were there but hell, it's ohio for all we know it could snow while were there.

For the whole trip? I don't know. I change LO every 3 hours and he sleeps through the night so I'd go by that rule. 1 diaper for every 3 hours. If you need more, won't there be a store around there you can stop at? And if you run into a pinch, gas stations almost always have small packs of diapers.

Id probably bring like 10 diapers per day and that would probably leave you with plenty extra.

Where in Ohio are you traveling to? The reason I ask is because Im in northeast ohio and its supposed to be in the 30's all next week. I wanna be where its 60!! Anyways I recently went from cleveland to Atlanta with a one month old. I only stopped when she wanted to eat and I changed her at that time as well. I didnt count how many diapers I pack, I just grabbed a bunch and put them in her diaper bag. I just bought some while I was down there. Thats the easiest thing you can do. Whatever you dont use while down there, you will still use eventually at home...so no money wasted! Enjoy your visit to this wonderful state of OHIO :D

Weather.com is the weather channel website and they're usually pretty spot on with their forecasts. WTBS...I always pack my kids like we are leaving forever. I'm weird like that. I'd take a whole sleeve of diapers. The change when feeding rule is a good one, or if ya'll stop for food/to stretch your legs check him then too. Have a fun safe trip!
