My second pregnancy was twins, actually. And it was like hell to transition. I'm pretty sure it was because we went from one to three, though. I'm not going to lie and say it was easy. Charlie was 2 years and 4 months at that point, if I'm counting right. Somebody help me...May to September, it's four months, right? My parents are down, I have no brain right now.

But we learned how to make it work, and going from three to four, and then four to five was nowhere near as hard.

i guess the "uncharted territory" is the big deal for me. i only "babysat" a little boy one time that was in diapers and his aunt was there so she changed him. other than that, the youngest boy i watched was starting at 6. he's a little angel and his sister who was the sweetest baby/toddler, is now a holy terror. so i can see where you're coming from.

see, i have to be aware that twins are a possibility so i need to be "prepared". i'd love to have 4 or 5 but it's going to take coaxing with DH. lol

I have 1 girl, 2 boys and a boy on the way, I think boys are MUCH easier than girls.

See, I wasn't prepared for twins. That was so not expected, otherwise we probably would've waited until Charlie was older. But we did make it work!

:D I need to convince my DH that we have enough children...We're going for number 6, and after that I'm almost positive I'm done.

Twins are not all they are cracked up to be half the time, but they are fun. If I gave DH this way, we'd have our own reality show by now...:D The man's an amazing father, but can't understand why I don't want a billion children running around the house. Most likely because he gets to go to work and not deal with them as much...

Well, if you're getting 4 when he wanted 2, that's definite progress.

no, he was limiting me to 4. since having DD, its gone down to 2. but i consider it progress that he said he had been thinking about #2 before i brought it up. and wants to ttc sooner than i had been thinking.

Adding a second to the mix was nothing! I was so worried but it was easier having a second than being a first time mom of a newborn. DS was 2 years, 9 months when LO came along. He's a phenomenal big brother.

if we start ttc when DD is 1 1/2 then she'll me over 2 when bubs 2 gets here (assuming they don't come early- have cousins that are 8 months apart).

Quoting Draco'sStalker:" How much of a transition was it adding #2? how much more stressful was it? and how old was your older child? anyone have twins the 2nd preg, how hard was it going from 1 to 3?"

I went from 1 to 3... 2 years apart. it was a transition. Actually.. first year is a blur. I was a zombie.. didn't sleep for the year pretty much. but.. if you're a SAHM you can do it. Nap when the kids nap. Try to get them on a schedule and all sleeping at same time. I was also working and going to nursing school

how hard was it to get into a schedule?

this goes for any who answered too. DD has a rather flexible schedule other than her bedtime as i said.

depends on the kid. My first 3... I just started molding them into a schedule and had zero issues. My 4th.. no matter what I tried.. she was going to do her own thing unfortunately. I made it work because it was 5 years after my others... would have been torture if she had been one of my 3 young ones lol

i can see how that would happen. i think it should usually get easier with each child. being that you get more experience and learn patience.

yea... but mother nature forgets to tell the child that.
