So my 4yo has always had an issue with pooping.. He will hold it in til he vomits, he's afraid to poop. I have no idea why, at our house we encourage and are gentle about it. I'm not sure what goes on over dads but I have found our about laxatives and enemas.. Well tonight he's us every 20 min in pain. He hasn't pooped. I don't think he needs to but he's in a lot of pain. What can I do to help him? I've already come to terms about not getting sleep to tonight. I've thought about sticking him in the car and going for a dive hoping the vibrations will help.. Suggestions please.
Have you tried a warm bath?
He won't wake up for anything. He's just tossing and really uncomfortable. He cries when I put him on the potty. I guess I'm looking for ways to ease his pain while he's sleeping, I don't want to wake him, I don't want him waking his sister

Well there isn't any way to relieve the pain while he's sleeping. If you massage his stomach you will wake him up(that was the other suggestion I was going to give you),
Maybe he's just having a bad dream? If you don't think he needs to poop then why do you think he is having issue with that?
If he has an ongoing problem talk to his doctor about encopresis. It's a bowel disorder, my daughter had the same thing. The best thing to do is a diet change, however in the short term give pedialax and as much fiber as possible. As much WATER as possible. Juice can be bad if it has too much sugar, sugar draws water away from the colon.
Cut down on dairy. Lots of water. My son has to have gas drops often still..most importantly, talk to your doctor. We have to give our son an enema or pedialax if he isnt taking miralax. We opt for miralax..it moves water to the bowels. You CANT hold your poop if youre on miralax. I know people whove used it during the potty training transition because they cant hold it that way..it gets them more comfortable going on the potty and less scared knowing it wont hurt.
