Could it be... finally... his tooth?! He has been teething for 3 months now and driving me up the wall sometimes! Poor little man, I really hope it breaks through now, although I am not looking forward to breastfeeding and biting Oo

Could be teething! Is he drooling? Really liking sucking or chewing on toys? Low fever? Sucking on lips (mine does this and he looks like an old toothless Asian woman, he's 1/5 Jap)

And I'm dreading my baby's teething too, 5.5 months old and drooling like crazy!

He's been doing that since he was 2 months, so for 3 months I've had days where I have to endure the crankiest baby ever :( He's in so much pain poor little thing.

When my baby's hurting (5 months), I wet a washcloth and throw it in the freezer and rub it on his gums. Seems to help. Or I'll simply rub his gums with a finger. Yep, mine gets super cranky too, like to the point where I question why I spent 9 months TTC for this.

Hah same here. But nothing helps his discomfort except mommys fingers. We've tried everything there is, nothing really helps.

Let him have what he wants LOL. I've resorted to hours of pure comfort sucking just to keep him quiet so I wouldn't lose my mind. Mine goes through this every now and then. I don't feel any bumps, just gums.

That is what DD's gums looked like about a month before her top and bottom teeth came in. When its getting really close it will look white and you will be able to see the tooth under the gum. DD has a Baltic Amber teething necklace that helps a TON. She is getting ready to break in teeth number 5 and 6 and she just turned 8 months old today. Hylands teething tablets help a lot too. Don't worry to much about the biting either she will bite you a few times but it shouldn't happen too often.

Teething necklace never worked (real amber), neither do teething tablets, camomille gel, lidocain gel 4%, lidocain gel 10%, you name it
The pedi gave us stronger teething gel on prescription cause it interfered with his ability to suck properly (hurt to much). :(

If none of that has helped are you sure his fussiness is caused by teething? I can't imagine going to all of those extremes to help with the pain and nothing has helped. I think you need to explore other reasons for his discomfort, especially if lidocaine is not helping at all that is a numbing agent so if that isn't helping then the pain isn't from teething. Maybe he has gas or a belly ache I hate how every single time something is a little off they go straight to teething.
