Okay so im on a medical card and i get the nuva ring which is like 130 bucks here and im needing to get a job so bye bye medical card! i know even when i do get a job i wont be able to afford it so i was thinking about getting the mirana (sp?) for the third time (took it out to try for #2 then put it back in and it fell out on its own) so idk if i should get it again after the last time and the implanon is out of the question! so what are some good cheap BC methods besides just condoms.

IS there any way you can go onto share of cost? That's what we have for our medical card and we're on a family plan, so we still pay on stuff but it's a low cost copayment.

The only other suggestion I have is some kind of barrier method paired with spermicides. Maybe you could get fitted for a cap or diaphragm before you get a job and lose your benefits?

Huh, We make over that and we're still covered. But like I said, We have to pay copayments and such. I know it'll be gone for sure for us in may though when I go back to college.

If you are losing your coverage soon, I wouldn't unless you can pay out of pocket to see your OB if something goes wrong or you want it removed. I would go with the NuvaRing or like I mentioned before a cervical cap or diaphragm.

I took the generic version of Ortho-Tricyclene.. $9 a pop from Wal-Mart, didn't have a single pregnancy scare while taking it either.

I have actually been on that pill before given to my by my doctor! You can get that shit for $9.00 at Walmart? I'm assuming you have to have the prescription for it?

It was the generic version, it's called Tri-Sprintec (I just looked at my old pharmacy history to figure that one out lol). I was paying like $50 for the Ortho-Tricyclene and they told me this stuff is the exact same but way cheaper, so I tried it and yeah.. $9 at Wal-Mart, but you do need the prescription for it. I didn't have any weird side effects, no pregnancy scares, nothing.

Yeah i looked it up and it is the SAME pill they had me on a few years back. Worked just fine. I'll keep that in mind when I loose my medical card. Usually my OB writes me a prescription for an entire year so that would be okay paying to go back for a check up and a prescription once a year.

But that pill made me so mean! But I guess I've had two babies since then so my body may actually be normal on it!

Ya won't know till you try again. That's what sucks about BC after a child. Still pisses me off that the implanon didn't work out for me even though before I had Giddy the Depo worked great! Smh.
