Quoting Charlie's Lovely Mommy:" I don't know. They way I see it, is weed is non-addictive. When I have weed it's nice, and usually helps ... [snip!] ... when I don't have money to spend. It's just there to help me if I need it. Like my Prozac. Which makes me feel crazy sometimes."

It's not the weed they get addicted to; it's the addiction of having something to "fix" you. I have to be careful with my use because I use it for insomnia. If I take it every night to make me go to sleep, I become dependent on it for sleep. I wouldn't be addicted to marijuana but I would be addicted to the fact that it makes falling asleep easier, KWIM?

Well for me I don't depend on it or need it like I did with the drugs. Like when I was an addict I hated to go visit my family because I couldn't get high. But with the weed I don't care if I don't smoke for a weekend or two. Whenever I have extra cash I'll buy some and relax, do homework, whatever. Should I not be smoking weed at all?

For me, I think it would depend on WHY they were getting it in the first place. Is it for the occasional headache or do they have fibromyalgia and need SOMETHING to function. If some kind of medicine is needed to function, I think mj is much better for an addicts recovery then prescription pills.

Stress, anxiety, and severe depression. I use it with my Prozac. Because I hate taking my Prozac. It makes me not want to eat anything.

I think those are all valid reasons as well. If you seriously can't function without medication I think weed would be a much better choice than pills.
FIL has horrible anxiety which leads to depression and he's on a lot of medication for it because he is against weed (well my MIL is mostly but still) and you can tell the days he needs to take his pills because he sleeps all day or just sits there and zones out in front of the tv and just isn't himself.

Yeah I get the same zombie like symptoms. I can't even play with my kid when I'm that bad, I just lay on the couch all day. Or pretend I'm going to class and just sit in my car.
