My children won't be able to date until 16! I had that rule, my husband had that rule.

Oh god  I have a six year old sister and if she told me she had a boyfriend I'd probably be freaking out lmao.

Lmao! my dd told us she had a bf in 3s prek haha. I don't remember who it was. But when she was in my 4s prek class she had a bf the whole yr (idk if he knew that he was pretty quiet and shy) and they used to play dress up and get married everyday. She doesn't even remember now that she's in kindergarten haha!! We ask her if she had a bf now cause she talks about two boys a lot but she says she doesn't.

Hahah, I think at that age it's all sweet and innocent.. once they hit middle school is when it becomes scary. I'd still be freaking out if my sister told me she had a boyfriend though, I still see her as a baby..

My son is almost 5. He asked the only girl on his soccer team to be his girlfriend and she said, "Ugh! Fine!" I told him he can't have a girlfriend but he didn't listen lol. Except for telling her she's pretty, he doesn't really treat her different than the other kids lol. Me and her mom got a good laugh about it yesterday at their game.

I hope my daughter starts dating at a reasonable age, yet I'd rather let my daughter date and know she's dating than not letting her date and her dating behind my back. She will however, have a curfew, I'd have to know where they are at, who are they with, etc.

Yet, for some reason I don't want to meet any of her boyfriends until they are someone serious.

I had my first bf at twelve. My mom didn't care, but she wouldnt have let us hang out outside of school... It wasnt until I was 15 she let me go to the movies with a guy I had known for a few years. After that
they let me go on dates, and dances. I'll do the same thing if I have a girl one day

I think there's a huge difference between the innocent little kid bf/gf thing where pretty much it's like a close friend that you call and hang out with at school haha. And they say they're "going out". I think actual dating is for high school. But I would probably take my 7-9th grader on group dates or supervised dates to movies or whatnot.
