my son has severely dry skin on his head. i give him a bath 4 times a week. i have tried everything to keep mosture in it from it getting too dry! he goes to the doctor in a few days, so i plan on asking them about it. but anyone whose kid has had this can they give some kind of cream to put on their head? and do you think it could maybe be the shampoo? he uses johnson baby shampoo. im thinking about switching to burts bees shampoo. it just flakes off like crazy. thanks for any suggestions and repsonses!

it's probably cradle cap, google "remedies to treat cradle cap" and there is a ton of things you can do/use

Shampoo can definitely dry it out. I do no poo on my little one (well all of us). I have a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water with a drop of tea tree oil that we use for conditioner and it cleared her scalp right up. She had super dry scalp before we started that. It was flaking everywhere. Not she just gets a little white flakes here and there. But not like it was.

Op, sorry to borrow your thread here, but my daughter seems to have cradle cap on her face. Is that even possible?

That's probably eczema. My son has eczema and both me and Daddy have it as well. Use very moisturizing soap on her face and put Cetaphil lotion or another extra moisturizing lotion on her face like twice a day. It should get better in time....

i actually looked it up and it can! sorry i know you was talking to the other person but thought i'd let you know! lol. but yeah, i saw images on google of babies who can get it on their face. mainly forehead, but also other areas. my son had it were his eyebrows are, i got that under control but now it's all in his head!

My daughters cradle cap reached the top of her forehead.

Rub some baby oil on to his head ad get a soft baby brush and brush his head. It will remove the cradle cap. It will take about a week to get it all off because you don't want to overdo it and hurt his head.

ok thanks! i had been using oil, and taking a baby brush and rubbing his head with it. it got off some, but it's really bad. im hoping i can get rid of some by the time he goes to the doctor! so they can give him something. i think im gonna try to use maybe burt bees baby oil. i read online that helps!

Oh man. I just googled it, and it doesn't look as severe as what I'm seeing, but it def. looks like a possibility. Her skin flakes around her eyes and has *what I thought* was baby acne on her cheeks.

My mum told me not to do this but I did anyway- if you scratch really gently with your nail on the tough part when it's covered in oil it will come straight off

I looked at the photos too just now. My dd was nowhere that severe. It was very milk. Just yellow gunk
