We have no idea what my allergen is but I'm convinced it's autoimmune and not allergen based in my case because my last EGD showed that I had a normal looking esophagus aside from the reflux scarring. I was a little over 2 years post partum and my EOE showed up when I got pregnant with my third.

That's pretty much why I can't eat. I always choke and it takes a long time for me to finally swallow. :(

I hate this! I hate dysphagia. Today I saw a doctor in my PCP's office, she told me to drink more water.. I would drink more water IF I could!

Did you have issues with reflux during your pregnancies? I have dysphagia and I was told that reflux is causing it. I had very mild dysphagia before I got pregnant but I'm at the point of where I can hardly eat or drink. I'm at a loss here, I don't know what to do.

They make it sound so simple but nothings simple when your choking on things like noodles, things even a baby could swallow.

I feel like I was released from the hospital too soon. Once I was diagnosed they let me go home. I was told that I need to be on a special diet but nobody told me what the diet is. Nobody gave me advice for the hiatal hernia, dysphagia and GERD. I've been trying to eat soups, today was chicken noodle like you said, I chocked on the noodles. I've been averaging 200-500 calories a day, I'm now down 16lbs.

The nurses sucked at my hospital. I've had an ongoing UTI for 3 weeks now.. I only got two IV fluids a day. I told them over and over that I need more fluids because every time I pee there's blood in my urine. When I was released I asked to be sent home with an antibiotic. The nurse wouldn't even talk to the doctor for me because she didn't think that I need an antibiotic since I was on an IV antibiotic. Today I had to be put on a new antibiotic because my kidneys hurt and I constantly have blood in my urine. Whenever I tell a doctor or nurse that I can't swallow they look at me like I'm crazy. The ER doctor told me "I don't believe anything is wrong with you. You didn't have a stroke, I don't see how you're having difficulty swallowing."

Every time I drink I hold the water in my mouth for a couple seconds and I try to get my body to do what it's suppose to so I can swallow. The only food I can eat at this point is crackers and chips. Before this problem I never ate chips. I'm just trying to get whatever calories I can into my body.

I'm not trying to make a poor me thing but it is awful.. I just took my antibiotic, I nearly choked on it and it felt like it went down my throat too soon.

ETA; I don't know if pregnancy triggered this or what.

That's what I would assume too. Have you talked to your OB about it?

While I was in the hospital he was informed but I made an appointment to see him tomorrow.

Maybe he will have some insight if it's a pregnancy triggered thing. I hope you can get the right care for it really soon.

I hope so too. I'm nervous that something will happen with this pregnancy as a result of my issues. I was told with the EGD that there is a chance of miscarriage because of the procedure and anesthesia because it can put stress on my body. IMO my body handled the anesthesia pretty well, my pulse was only in the 90's and my BP was 124/79. Normally my BP is around 105/60.

I want something to be done so I can get the fluids and nutrition that I need. I don't want to to be hospitalized again but if that's what it takes I want it. Tomorrow I also see the GI doctor too, I hope something is figured out soon, I really hope so.
