Natural Labour inducing methods!! Help Joyful Tears Due April 11 (boy); 1 child; Wisconsin 109 posts

Ok this is how it is. Just so a lot of you do not yell at me. I have until the 5th to go into labour naturally or by the 5th of April I will be induced. I was induced with my first baby and it was a nightmare and let's just say I HATE pitocin. Who doesn't? I have gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension. My doctor would prefer if I went into labour on my own. I have been suffering with cramps and contractions like crazy. He feels bad but says I am a trooper and hope I go into labour before the 5th. I am close to 3cm. I do a lot of walking and all that does is cause sharp cervical pain. I have done squats with my 2 year old and all that did was make it impossible to walk for 3 days haha. I know nothing is for sure...but any ideas that have worked on you or whatever would be great.

Well the obvious ones are walking and sex. Sex really really helped me (unintentionally lol) I went into active labor at Olive Garden, maybe try that! ;) good luck

Yes. Eating at Olive Garden is scientifically proven to induce labor. :D :D Haha.

Op, have you tried Evening Primrose Oil to soften your cervix? And sex. Lots of sex.

according to my midwife you cant induce on your own... women think you can because they are in early labor and dont know it. so when they try sex... or any other remedy and poof they have contractions... they think it worked... when really all it did was speed labor up. If your in early labor with no contractions... yes you can speed it up but you cant actually start labor... according to my midwife.

There is a pressure point in the ankle that has been known to induce labor, supposedly.

yeah supposedly "labor" is considered as soon as you start dilatation without stopping for more then a day. i have friends and have read numerous articles that dont have contractions at all... its rare but it cant happen. my aunt didnt know she was in labor... she went to the bathroom and felt like she needed to push... no contractions at all... no cramps... and started pushing the baby out on the toilet as paramedics were ariving.

Technically nothing. Your baby won't come out until its done developing all it can develop.

early labor signs can be losing your mucous plug...contractions that you pass off as baby stretching ....bursts of anxiety.

....You can be in early labor for days :(

eta- inconsistent contractions
