I'm 4 weeks PP and have felt damn-near fully recovered since I was 2 weeks PP. I've noticed over the past couple of days that my lochia has returned and it's red again, not brown, but also not excessive. Now I'll occasionally have these throbbing, sharp pains like, at the top of my vagina close to where my incision is, but not ON the incision, in my innards, if you KWIM. Normal??

Sounds like the nerves trying to repair.

Have you had an increase in activity? Since you said you've felt basically healed for 2 weeks, I'm thinking it could be over activity.
Also what another mama said about nerves repairing.

:!: just when I start to feel good if I overdo it it hurts again. Plus just because the outside is healed doesn't mean the inside is. My dr said it takes 18 months usually for it to fully be healed. My scar was also very smooth before and wasn't that red and then it started to get darker and the scar tissue started to raise up a bit. Idk why it changed like that. But I figure healing is different for everyone and its a slow process. Just take it easy no matter how good you feel.

I've actually had a decrease in activity since then. Lack of sleep has caught up with me and DD has developed a little colic or something, so I've been kind of a bump on a log. I wonder if the slow down in activity could cause that, too??
