She SHOULD gain about a lb a week.... that is an estimate.... You can gain more or gain less. I'm not saying she wouldn't be ok either way I was just giving the reccomended weight gain different sources give

I think it just depends on your BMI. I'm 5'2 & was 160 pre preg & my recommended weight was 10-15lbs. When I weighed 110 they wanted me to gain 30lbs during my pregnancy

Thanks for all the replies ladies.
Lately its been so hard to breathe...and my face and legs swell making me feel like a huge heifer.
I need top eat more fruits and veggies.
My doctor doesn't seem concerned, but my body is really stubborn about losing weight... Its hard for me. And the lowest weight I've ever been in my life is 158. The highest was with my first son, 220. I hit 203 with my second one. Gained 40 lbs total.
My first son I was 190 starting weight 220 at birth.
My second son I was 160 starting weight, 203 at birth.
Now this one I was 185...& climbing..!!

I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and I weigh 128lbs. Before I was pregnant I think I was slightly under weight at 106lbs and I was 5foot 1.So therefore I'm short. I'm just a petite person. My point is I have 3 months 2 weeks estimated left and I already gained 28lbs! I will gain much more too,I promise!

Starting in the beginning of the pregnancy would've been the best idea. Exercising and eating healthy early on set the tone for my whole pregnancy. I walked/jogged five miles a day (you don't have to be in great shape to walk far, you just need to find the time) and with two weeks left, I've gained a total of ten pounds, and my little one hasn't been measuring so little...we expect her to be about 8.5lbs just like her parents were. I disagree with the posters that say you don't want to slow down and that gaining is good. Of course you want to gain the weight of the baby, and the weight of extra blood and fluid that you will have while pregnant. That doesn't mean you also want to gain that extra fifteen pounds of fat that you'll have to lose afterward, and that will only weigh you down even more while pregnant. With eight weeks left, you can start now! It makes a big difference in how you feel as well. I've felt wonderful this whole pregnancy, with no morning sickness, aches, swelling, or anything (My husband says the only pregant thing about me is the baby belly) and I really think it's because I've been exercising since day one. And believe me, when I wanted those cookies, I ate them! It's not too late at all. Short walks a few times a day are just as good. Just keep moving...and drinking A TON of water while doing it! Good luck and congrats!
