Quoting Le_noir_rabbit:" LOL! Yep. I don't think Emery sounds extremely Masculine either. It is however a male name from around ... [snip!] ... like Emery is the name for you I don't think anyone today would make fun or even question it. It's an outdated name for a boy."

It is an outdated name for a boy. However Emma is a no go for us because its our cats name :p

lol Know what you mean, the cat may sense a betrayal. lol and replacement.
I and my Husband are still TTC/waiting to test. But he's been picking out girls
names and we both like Molly but that's the name of our dairy goat.
It's like once you've named an animal or known someone whom you didn't like with that name it's off limits.

Good luck and congratulations on the baby!

Shit, that's bound to become feminine. I've seen James and Harrison on girls.

So you give your cat a good name, and your kids bad names?

It's not outdated for a boy. One could say masculine names on girls are outdated as some of the usage has decreased.

Editing note : Decided I really didn't care.
Seriously though, growing up as a girl with the name Emery sounds a lot less troublesome than all these other hipster names people are coming up with now.

Ps.. I LOVE your GIF @ Makanani

At this point I'm done caring what people have to say about the names on our list so far. Whatever name we go with is our choice, and that's final. I didn't ask for what people thought of the name we were thinking of going with. I asked for more names to look at and think about since I was having possible second thoughts about the first one.

I just feel like theres so many names out there to look thru and we haven't. We have two boys so we've never needed to go thru the girl names before.

Haha yes once you've named something one thing or know someone who's used the name its so hard to look passed it to use the name, atleast for me it is. Congratulations on TTC and testing soon, sending baby dust your way (: <3

I LOOOVE Isla Mae, I think its the perfect name but SO doesn't like it at all ): He said nope move on not gonna happen. I feel like he turns down everything I like. He refuses to look cause he says he knows I can produce them faster and he's just a "filter" but he just says no to everything, its so frustrating.

Aw :( Don't end up naming your daughter something you'll regret! I have to stop myself sometimes because I find myself letting my mom discourage me bc DH don't care and it's up to me  So it's kind of cool but yet irritating!:x Sometimes I snap and I am just like "mom it's a beautiful name, not over-used and has value and meaning to it" and it just explain myself and then she ends up still hating it or actually giving it thought and agrees with me. I found naming DS1 and DS2 A LOT easier then DD. I still don't have a name for her and I've wanted a daughter since I first found out I was pregnant the first time around so you'd think I'd have atleast 5 perfect girl names for my future daughter/daughters!

I'm in the same situation, my mother hates everything I come up with except it doesn't really bother me, I mean it does but if SO liked it I wouldn't change it because of her. Our boys names were sooo easy to come up with, if this baby was a boy we'd have no issues with it either. I've always wanted a girl as well, so I thought it would just be easy but now that we're having one I'm nervous. Its like I can't even come up with a name for her, whats it going to be like when she's here? All my friends all have boys and all my cousins have baby boys, except 1 but she's over 1 now and I only met her once, so besides her my baby will be the only baby girl in the family.

OMG SAME HERE lol! Literally! I've wanted a girl sooooo bad I don't even feel like this is real! I feel like maybe I can't decide because she is going to come out a boy! Even though they've been telling me girl since we could see the nub! I'm 26 weeks and SHE better be a girl. I don't wanna get let down and I read a thread where this girl was told she was having a girl and when she delivered SHE ended up being a HE. She had to sale/exchange everything she had for her "daughter" OMG I would be so heartbroken if that happened. I mean I would be happy for my baby regardless, but to also want a daughter and then prepare the next several months with my mindset on a daughter and buying things for her and preparing her own nursery would be completely devastating to me! I'm so worried and paranoid lol It just don't seem real. So EVERYTHING still has tags and I keep the receipts incase that DID happen.Lets pray it don't!

I always wanted a girl but from the beginning of this pregnancy I just for some reason wanted another boy sooo badly, then have baby 4 be a girl and be done :p I had my ultrasound at 15wks just cause they couldn't find a heartbeat on a doppler but I go back on April 2nd for the full scan and I'll be 18.6wks so I should know for sure by then. I haven't ordered anything or bought anything yet. I'll be okay with either outcome of the ultrasound. I do however have my registries all set up with girl things :p Easy fix though. If they say girl and it does end up being a boy I think I'll be okay just be disappointed that I'd have to exchange all the stuff cause that'd be a long process.

omg yes. I wanna have everything prepared and preparing for a girl and having to have someone else go exchange crap because we will be in the hospital for atleast two days is horrid. I DON'T want that to happen  I think it's rare for them to be wrong though when it comes to gender.

Yeah especially if they've been doing their job for a while. The tech that I usually have has been around for a long time. I love her. She's done all but 3 of my ultrasounds so far for all of my pregnancies total. My next one is on the 2nd and I'm hoping she's going to be the one doing it. She's been dead set on everything she's said in the past. At 26wks she said my youngest was going to be 10lbs if he went to 40wks. I had him at 39wks 3days and he was 9lbs 11.7ozs :p She also from a 2D said that he was going to look exactly like his bigger brother and she was right, they were identical as newborns besides their chins :p
