So with my first, I had her at 38weeks and was induced due to preeclampsia(sp?). I heard stories about how being induced was worse than without and I did almost have to have a c-section, but other than that it went great. Barely felt pain, had epidural but needed to be off it before pushing due to complications. For me I'd rate the overall pain about 4/10. She was only 6lbs 3oz though, too.
Now I am due with a boy and I hear second is bigger especially boys. I'm just curious how your second birthing experience went. With epidural preferred since I will be getting one. Even better if second baby was a boy. :)
I had my 1st at 39 weeks 2 days, I had horrible back labor. Labored lasted 24 hours. He weighed 6lbs 3.8ozs. I had my 2nd at 37 weeks, I had back labor again but it wasn't as bad as with my 1st. Labor lasted 12 hours. He weighed 7lbs .1oz. I had an epidural for both.
I honestly think it varies baby by baby, and doesn't matter if it's your 1st, 2nd or 10th.
pain with DD was 100/10 so I can't see it being worse this time around. f**k the epidural it was a complete waste of time for me.
Oh man my second was a breeze and I loved it. With my first I was induced, the started the cervidil Monday night and he didnt come out until Thursday night. That alone was miserable but once I got my epidural it was alright. I got an episiotomy with him and recovery sucked. With my second my water broke on its own and he was out 14 hours later. Didnt tear or need an episiotomy. Recovery was amazing I was moving around just fine a few hours later. My oldest was 7lbs 10oz 19 inches my second was 6lbs 12 oz and 18 inches.
Quoting :*:CHRiSTiNe:*::" Oh man my second was a breeze and I loved it. With my first I was induced, the started the cervidil Monday ... [snip!] ... I was moving around just fine a few hours later. My oldest was 7lbs 10oz 19 inches my second was 6lbs 12 oz and 18 inches."
Mon-Thurs sounds horrible. I went in Thursday, got induced that night. Next day they broke my water and Saturday morning she was out in a few pushes. :)
I know it varies by woman and baby, but your post gives me hope lol. I just feel like with my first: easy pregnancy so easy birth. This one has been hell for me so feel like delivery is going to be just as bad lol.
My second was so easy compared to the first.
Just like you with DD I was induced due to pre E. She was 8lbs 7oz and I had her 2 days after my due date.
With DS I went natural. My water broke at 3:15am and he was born at 7:15am. He was 8lbs 11.5oz. So not to much bigger then DD. I was 39 weeks 3 days along. The pain was completely manageable until about 30 minutes away from pushing when the contractions really got intense. But I only pushed for 15 minutes :)
I always say if I knew my labor would be like DS's id have 4 more. Lol
Labor with my DD was so long and painful.I seriously did not want another baby for a long time. She was 8.10
Labor with DS was a freaking breeze 3 pushes and he was out.I laughed the whole time. He was 9.3
Labor with my first was pretty awesome. I started feeling contractions at 11:45 pm. They started off painless but 2 minutes apart. I shrugged them off for a little while but hubby was freaking out so we decided to go get checked.
Walked into the hospital still not in any pain. Was finally checked at aboit 12:45 am and was almost 8 cm!!!
I wanted an epidural but the had to take ny blood first and check ny platelets because they had been very low. By the time the epi guy got there I was already 10 cm and baby's head was part way out along with ny intact bag of waters.
So no epi for me. I had not planned on a natural birth and was panicking. We had to wait for my midwife to get there before I could push. I was basically hyperventilating through cobtractions.
Finally I heard my midwifes wonderful voice say "Are you ready to have a baby?"
First push and my water burst everywhere. 2 more pushes and baby was out.
We were team green and she held baby up and I got to yell "IT'S A BOY!!!"
Tate Millan K. was born at 1:31 am after only 1 hr 46 minutes of labor. He was born at 36 +1 and was 6 lbs 1 oz and perfectly healthy!
When I got pregnant with my secobd child I spent the whole labor afraid that I wouldnt make it to the hospital.to deliver. My midwife assured me she would start checks early and she would make sure that everything went well.
At 36+1 I had my routine appointment and was shockingly at 4 cm and fully effaced.
A went back a few hours later and had progressed to 5 cm and my bag of waters was bulging. So we weighed our options and decided that an induction would be safest.
So I was kept overnight on bed rest in order to get all the gbs antibiotics that I needed.
Finally at 2:10 pm the next day my induction was started. The broke my water and started a very low dose of pitocin just to keep things moving.
I had planned on a natural labor and this time I was ready. I easily breathed through my contractions and felt absolutely no pain.
At 2:46 pm my second baby was placed on my chest. I really wanted a girl. I had dreamed of a beautiful little girl. I looked down at my baby and.....
The cord was in my way!! So I yelled (the first words my baby heard me say) "WHAT DID I GET?"
And after much laughter I was told I had a beautiful, healthy, perfect little girl!!
I cried so much!!!
Bo Delainie K. was born at 2:46 pm after only 36 minutes of labor! She was 5 lbs 3 oz (so my son was almost a pound heavier) and also very healthy!
