We spend about 500-600 a month on food for 2 adults and one child but we never cook anything expensive, we don't even cook everyday. Sometimes I will cook and it will be our food for two days. I just don't get how our food budget is so high, i've tried everything. Even one week with out buying any meat, it was still 100 that week. Maybe its the state i live in, idk. I just dont get it. I live in upper new england.
What are you buying?
sounds about what we spend every month on 2 adults 1 child too
For our family of 4 we spend about 60-100 a week on groceries. We don't eat dairy, or a lot of processed foods, and still manage to keep our budget pretty low.
Damn I spent almost 300 at the 1st of the month ans still have plenty until the 1st. Where do u shop and do u get brand name items. I know there are certain things that I have to have name brand but other than that it all gerneric
Do you shop sales? Coupon? Meal plan and only buy what you need? Name brands vs generic. Cost of living is higher in some areas so maybe find out what others in your area spend if you are trying to compare it to something.
We spend about $400 a month for SO and I. But we eat a lot of fresh vegetables and sea food which is expensive here because we are in the middle of Canada.
That sounds about how much we spend. I just spent about 325 two days ago and I can guarentee you that I will have to buy more by first week of April.

usually 1-2 types of meat ranging from 2-4 lbs. Veggies, a lot of breads, fruits, snacks like popcorn, crackers, muffins, milk, eggs, juice. oil, pastas. Sometimes Ill add hambuger helper in there, or a frozen pizza. We don't eat out, maybe once every 2months.
Thats what I spend when DH is home for 2 adults and a 5 year old. We just live in a high cost of living area.
We spend on average 250-400 a month on food (sometimes its two adults one kid, sometimes its five adults two kids, and once a week we bring food for a potluck of 12 people)
we dont shop at the large supermarket stores like safeway, walmart, albertsons, etc. we shop at places like grocery outlet. we stock up when we find prices of things that are low. we have a second fridge/freezer combo and a deep freezer. we found bacon once, a pound a dollar. we also found oscar meyer beef franks (10 pack) 2/$1 and jalapeno beef franks 4/$1. Those weren't 'clearance' prices, but sale prices. so we stock up when its on sale, and only get what we need weekly.
For 2 adults and one child , I spend roughly $130 a week at the max.
Planning out my meals for the week (or month if you do it that way) , finding coupons, and looking at fliers for the sales have really helped bring it down.

You only buy like 2 types of meat like once a month? I don't see how your food cost so much but maybe it's where you live.
