Last year I rented a property that turned out to be absolutely riddled with mould...In every room of that god forsaken place. We'd only been there 2 weeks when dds room was green and slimy. Vile. I f**king hated that place.
I have asthma, dd was only 5 months and I absolutely refused to live there.
Long story short, I had to fight the real estate to realised from the lease, cost a lot of money to fight them, move and scramble to find another property to live in. The real estate treated me like a paranoid psycho and acted as though I was being completely out of line. We left after 3 months.
I was bitter but like 7 months later I was pretty much over it.

So for about 5-6 months I have had a dull pain in my left side, at the bottom of my lung. I never gave it much stock as I carry dd on that side most of the time and assumed it was muscular strain or bruising.
Lately it's been hurting a lot more and I was sick as a dog last week (virus probably) and my side just ached! Drs were confused, but did observations and urine and blood tests.

I got the results today and I have f**king bacteria in my lungs and the drs are convinced that the nature of the bacteria is from f**king mould!!!!!! The drs are confident the bacteria should be easy to eliminate but are concerned about permanent damage. Normally I would get an X-ray but can't at the moment so we gotta wait.

I am so worried about dd. she does to daycare now so she's always bring home a new germ but Ive noticed she wheezes and rasps. She is going to need to be checked out.

If my baby has had her lungs permanently damaged from some neglectful rental agency I am going to break some necks.

BUT that wouldn't help the fact that your baby may be sick. I'm sorry to hear that =/ I hope she's fine and I hope you get better soon :)

This has been said a few times to me. My head is swimming at the moment so this one is low on my list but it's definitely in the cards, especially if there is permanent damage.

Thanks. Dd is my priority at the moment. I feel like a woman possessed I feel the need to know she is ok but the thought of holding her down and taking blood makes my heart sad... All for the greater good I guess.

I really really really hope so. Baby still has a heart beat and no vaginal loss so that's positive but won't know until future scans for sure. The dr wasn't divulging too much about the baby which didn't make me feel confident but he wasn't scrambling for testing etc so I don't know.
I am scared but trying not to be consumed by it all.

I definitely need to spend some more time talking to my dr, getting all the facts and going from there. I didn't ask enough Qs today because I was overwhelmed and furious.

My Mom would have come unglued. When I was a child I had severe asthma and mold is NO joke. We went somewhere and it had mold and I was almost hospitalized from it. People need to realize that mold is no joke, that shit can hurt any healthy person, but messing with your lungs... yeah its bad.

I feel very much the same! I just could not get over why they weren't taking me seriously at the time! Treating me like a delusional hypochondriac when we were dealing with a genuinely serious problem! As soon as I saw the mould in the first room I flipped, pulled dd out of there and demanded something be done. Sadly the rest of the property was bad too. I was glad to get out when I did but mustn't have been soon enough.

Scary thing is, the place is still on the rental market. We had a wet summer, only 3 sunny days in over 2 months. That house must be a toxic minefield at the moment.
I'm scared for those tenants.

Unfortunately it would be damn near impossible to prove that the mold in that building is the mold that could have caused damage to your health.

This is true and I have thought of this. The dr said something about the spread of bacteria and how long it's been there so that would help because the time frames match.
I am not the jump straigjt to litigation type so I doubt I'd pursue it, it seems like such a lot of what ifs, red tape and out arguing each other. Exhausting!
If my dd has permanent damage this tune may change.
