"No reputable hair dresser will dye any womans hair if she is pregnant or thinks she is pregnant. They are legally not allowed to dye hair if they are pregnant as well"

What a crock of shit.. lol, Made me giggle.

I've never had my hair dyed while pregnant... Are they not suppose to?

no you can, it's completely safe in a ventilated area. If you were in a tiny bathroom with the fan off and window/door shut then the fumes would be a little to much.

If that were true, no one would have a pregnant hairstylist.

Sounds like someone doesn't know as much as they think they do. My hairdresser won't in the first trimester, but I went an couple times after. My cosmetology teacher had a girl in school bring a note from home when she wanted it done while pregnant, but still did it. I do know lots of people who think this way though. I had soo many people tell me to be careful and that I wasn't thinking about my baby.

What do they think happens? Your scalp absorbs it and it crosses the placenta?!

I don't understand some peoples logic.

I am a lisenced cosmetologist (went to beauty school after college) and that is complete bullshit. Lol as long as you are in an open, well-ventilated area it is perfectly safe. I had a number of friends going though beauty school while they were pregnant, I graduated when I was pregnant, and we did color practically everyday. No doctor has EVER delivered a baby and said "poor thing, his mother obviously colored her hair through pregnancy". It's fine.

Honestly, I didn't care to let them keep talking and find out. Cosmo teach said it was a myth but she wasn't having anyone have the chance to say it was something she did. My hairdresser said another girl in the salon was accused of being the reason a woman had a m/c, so she also didn't want to get her name tarnished or anything. People just like to come up with stuff to sound smart and see if anyone will listen. I told one girl I promise not to dye the baby's hair, I don't think the brush will fit anyways.
