Do you set little goals for yourself to get things accomplished?
I don't know if it's because I'm a single parent, or what, but I constantly have to set goals for myself to get anything done. Like today I need to make 12 birthday favors to bring to my baby girls class at daycare, which I consider fun, but I told myself I couldn't do it until the kitchen is absolutely spotless. I think thats the only way I can get anything done. Anyone else do this? I feel like I have no one else to motivate me to do anything so I try to motivate myself, It makes me feel stupid though!
I do. It helps with dealing with anxiety. Like making phone calls I hate so I tell myself IM going to do "this" then call this place, then reward myself. Lol
I do it all the time, I'm constantly making little "to do" lists for myself, for one, it feels great when you start crossing things off, but also to remind myself of all the things I need to get done, lol
I do! My mom taught me to do it. I say "I'll do (undesirable chore) and then I get to watch an episode of (whatever tv series im watching)
Or I do but I end up not doing it.
Like today I need to do the dishes and vacuum and put my clothes away.
I told myself before I could use the computer I had to at least do the dishes.
They are still dirty lol.
Sometimes with school work though I'll set a goal and stick to it.
