How do you ladies deal when your husband is out of town for extended lengths of time? My husband will be out of town for two months starting next week and I'm so miserable thinking about it.. I couldn't imagine being an army wife :/

Just keep busy. Try to continue maneuvering daily life. It makes it go by faster. DH has been gone since November, he'll be done in 2 weeks. Some days are easier than others..

Just keep doing my every day routine. I really don't think about it, honestly. Being miserable isn't going to bring him back any sooner, might as well keep on truckin.

My SO isn't just out of town, he's out of the COUNTRY...5 weeks at a time, and then he's home for 5 weeks. I don't focus on the time until he comes home, I keep doing the day to day stuff. In some ways it's really nice, because when he's home, he's HOME...no focusing on work or anything else.

I just keep busy. Go on about my daily routine just without him in it. My husband is army and he's gone 2 weeks a month. It sucks but I have no other choice.

Army isnt the only ones.

You just put your big girl panties on and do what you gotta do till he gets home. kids help time pass cause you have to keep them on scheduals. you will be fine.. and you will find a new strenght in yourself

Keep busy, establish a routine if you havent already.

I still have to do things for my children, I cant dwell on him being away. That makes it worse.

i have such sympathy for you ladies.. i honestly dont know how you guys do it. Up until my husband started this job we hadnt spent a single day apart since the first day we met :(

as far as sticking to a schedule, we arent really on one yet.. we just moved into our house not too long ago and my daughter hasnt started school yet so we really havent had a reason to rush into one i guess? but its definitely a good idea.. i mean we wake up and go to sleep around the same time everyday but everything else is just kin of random..

How old is LO? You could look into story time at the library, different arts & crafts

She'll be 4 next month.. I've started looking into like ballet classes and such for her since we've moved here but it's difficult right now because we can't really leave the house for extended periods of time.. It's really a long story but our dog just had a litter of puppies and we need to be home with them for the time being

That is actually a good way to start a schedule with her. Since the puppies are getting bigger they are going to start needing to go outside to learn to potty outside before you put them up to be sold/adopted.whatever you want to call it soon so you can kinda make it like a learning thing with her where every "x-amount of time" we need to take the puppies to the potty. Getting her excited about it will also help you pass the time. As they get bigger she can start getting them interested in playing and having her handle them individually too will be a way to start getting her used to having a schedule for later as well.

thats a really good point.. i havent thought of it that way because theyre only almost two weeks old but youre definitely right. I also picked up a new hobby of refinishing old furniture.. so far i have a crib, glass doors, and my kitchen table and 4 chairs to sand and paint/stain but have yet to get to any of it because by the time i finish cleaning my house and doing all the floors EVERYDAY i never have the energy left.. hmph. so i guess i have a lot that i could do to pass the time but my husbands lack of company still sucks :(
