I live in an apartment complex. It's a pretty small one, there are three buildings, each with like 24 apartments in them. There is a grassy open area that is designated for dogs to be walked in, and they supply poo bags, a scoop, and a trashcan because NO ONE wants to step in dog shit. It's just common sense.

The people who live in the apartment directly underneath mine, have a little like, half pomeranian half rat THING that they leave at home all f**king day to yap it's head off. When they come home at night, they take her outside their front door, or to the grassy area by the stairs, to go potty, instead of using the dog area. It wouldn't bother me, if they would carry a f**king shit bag with them. We have other neighbors who use the same areas, but they clean up after their dog, so it's really no big deal. However, thanks to their dog and their irresponsibility to clean up after it, I've stepped in dog piles on several occasions now. I've tried to talk to them directly about it on several occasions. They tell me I should just watch where I am going, it doesn't seem to bother anyone else. I have tried talking to the office about it, and they said that I should try to handle it with them directly, because "getting them in trouble with the management will just increase tension". I talked to the police department, since there is a law in town about picking up after your animal, and they said that since it is on private property that the dog's owner lives on, they can't do anything. I've f**king HAD IT and am tired of steping in dog shit - even when I'm watching where I'm going it's far too easy, but with kids, I'm more likely to be watching them than my feet.

My lease is up and I'm seriously at the point that I'm tempted to move, but I know even if I do that there are awful neighbors everywhere, so moving really solves nothing. I am so frustrated though.

Seriously, I would pick it up each day and put it right in front of their door. And if it's still fresh, f**k it, put it on their door knob.

That's ridiculous that the office in your building will not do anything. I have no idea what I would do but I would definitely be talking to the office more because it is not your responsibility to correct other tenants, it is theirs.

They will start picking it up the day they get tired of seeing it on the front porch of they're house. Until then. Put it on their porch. f**k IT

Quoting Elle With Three &1/2:" I would think so! I know when another neighbor threw cigarette butts off the balcony, they were ALL ... [snip!] ... though, they said that it was because of the fire hazard. Ok, so fire is enough risk, but having to dodge FECES daily isn't?!"

I wonder if there is anyone that you could complain to in your city and town since management seems to be doing nothing. I really don't agree with you picking it up and putting it by their door but I honestly don't see how you can get any relief from this. I'm sorry you have to go through that, especially while pregnant.

...and confronting them directly will not cause tension? What a bunch of dipshits in that management office! Seriously...why couldn't they type up a letter and give it to all the tenants as to not just point out the obvious tenant that isn't following the rules?

I agree. That is ludicrous.
