I was in the weirdest accident today.

I was slowing down coming up to a stop light. There was a lady in front of me who randomly slammed on her brakes like 10 car lengths away from the car actually stopped in front of her. My brakes failed me and I rear ended her (maybe 3-4 mph, it wasn't even fast enough to register on my speedometer.)
Anyway, when the light turned, she sped off and didn't even stop for my info. Weird, right? I'm the one that did the hitting!

I'm seriously confused right now. Lol

I went and reported it to the cops. They said they can't do much because I don't have the plate number. (It was a white impala. There are about a million of those here.) He just said he will file the report, and I don't need to worry about it because I have no damage and she likely didn't either.

But really, what the actual f**k?

It was an older lady but DH thought maybe warrant or lack of insurance. Either way, weird!!

ETA: Because I'm 90% sure I would have been at fault.

Probably warrants. Even if it was your fault and you'd have to of paid, she could still be ticketed for no insurance, or taken in on warrants.

They probably didnt care since you barely even bumped them... Unless they had something to hide. Lol

The almost same thing happened to me a long time ago. It was an old lady, and she didn't want to report it because she was unlicensed. A lot of times when people get older, it's hard for them to get to the DMV to renew their license, so they just let it go and drive without one.

Was it a light enough bump that maybe she didn't notice it? If not that, then I have no idea. People are crazy. *shrugs*

She noticed. She got like halfway out of her car and looked me, then got back in and closed the door.
