I am so nervous about little guys appointment tomorrow. 2 weeks ago he lost weight but thankfully last week he gained 3 or the 4 ounces he lost and I'm afraid he may have lost weight again. I can't help but feel so anxious about this. Michael was 8lbs 15 ounces at birth and last week he was 13lbs 11 ounces still 1 ounce smaller then his appointment that was 3 weeks prior but thankfully 3 ounces bigger then the week before. He is now in the 0% for his weight down from 95% at birth. He has severe reflux we never went through this with our daughter so this is something i'm not used to and worry's me. I guess we will find out how it goes tomorrow.
do they have him on meds?
Quoting supa~~fly:" do they have him on meds?"
Yes he is on Prevacid and Zantac in the morning and Zantac at bedtime. Also tomorrow will be 2 weeks that we add 1 teaspoon of powder formula to his breast milk bottle to add extra calories to help with the weight gain.

Wow really CPS that is insane! We were doing cereal but had to stop because it was making him constipated. We started that at 4 months but like I said had to stop.. He lost weight again but the good news is he is getting longer. We are trying to get him to eat more and its been a battle. We add the 1 teaspoon of formula to his breast milk for extra calories. We have to try and get him to atleast eat 5 bottles a day. We are still trying to work on adding baby food for him now though. The doc said that will probably take time because he has to get used to the texture and taste and everything but hoping soon he will eat more of that too. He is sleeping in his swing right now so I can wake him up at 930 to eat another bottle which will make 5 today I didn't want to put him to bed until we could attempt the 5th bottle. We are getting a GI referral as well but he is calling the GI to see what labs they want to run to rule out anything else and he goes back Monday for another weight check and to have labs drawn on him. He was very happy with his length though he said that he is growing but just isn't gaining and said his weight is the problem so he doesn't suspect anything melabolic or anything like that he just thinks its reflux and we have to get him to eat enough and get him to want to do that. How is your baby doing now??

I'm so glad to hear that things are slowly but surely turning around for your LO!! My LO is doing amazing now. From 4 months-5 months we had a 3lb weight gain :) at his dr's appt a few weeks ago he was 16lbs 7ozs! We go to the dr again april 15th for his 6 month check up. He turns 6 months on April 11th! He doesn't like cereal plain. Refuses to eat it unless it's in his bottle.
Yea CPS ended up getting involved because one of the doctor at the childrens hospital swore up and down we were starving him because of his slight weight gain going from powdered to liquid formula. He had a hard time keeping powdered formula down because it was to thin. The liquid already made formula is thicker and kept better but the dr didn't care what SO or I said and called us bad unfit parents.

Oh goodness I am so sorry that they had CPS called on you! Happy that he is doing better for you! Michael hit 6 months yesterday I can't believe how fast the time has gone by already. I know people always say how tiny he is and all I say yes I know its reflux and when they find out how huge he was at birth they can't believe it. He is always smiles though so that makes me feel better! We did make it to 5 bottles yesterday now need to make it happen again. I added another ounce of breast milk to his last bottle just to see if he would eat it and he didn't the doctor would like him eating more ounces as well since he is eating the minimum but he just isn't having it I guess from what I'm understanding its due to the pain of his reflux he has GERD. If he gains slowly the doc said he would be fine with that because at least he is gaining something.
