My friend and I are going to be going on a strict diet and exercise plan after her wedding on April 6. We are both 19, about 5'8, and 200-206 pounds. We have the same body shape too, high hips, big b**bs, and no butts. The only difference is I had a baby 18 months ago, and she has no kids, I know I may have to work a little harder because I know baby weight can be hard to lose and it can linger for awhile. So far we decided we're going to cut all soda and high sugary drinks , drink nothing but water, do portion control(we both over eat like crazy!), cut unhealthy snacks and foods, do a lot of cardio, and some ab workouts.
Are there any specific foods, besides the obvious, we should avoid?
Is there any foods or drinks that can speed up our metabolism? (I heard there was.)

Any advice or tips on anything will be greatly appreciated.

Green tea is good for the metabolism. Or so I hear.

Green tea, cinnamon, and apple cider vinegar can speed metabolism. Avoid carbs. Your body immediately uses it for energy instead of fat so by avoiding or limiting your carb intaoe you're forcing your body to use fat for energy. Eat veggies like crazy! Fruit is good too but they're loaded with carbs. Greek yogurt is delicious as is hummus. Good luck!

Quoting lynnsaymarie:" Green tea, cinnamon, and apple cider vinegar can speed metabolism. Avoid carbs. Your body immediately ... [snip!] ... Eat veggies like crazy! Fruit is good too but they're loaded with carbs. Greek yogurt is delicious as is hummus. Good luck!"

Thanks! I drink a ton of green tea(hot and cold) as is, so that hasn't worked for me, lol. I love Greek yogurt, but I have never tried hummus, what is hummus exactly?

Its a dip made of garbanzo beans, I believe. There's all kinds of different flavors. My favorite is roasted red pepper. I love dipping celery in it. Some people don't like it though so if you were to try it I'd buy a small container.

I will definitely have to try it out! My uncle makes his own, so maybe I'll have him make me some. He eats his with pita chips that he makes as well.

Have you tried the My Fitness Pal app? They have a website too. You can track your calories and exercise to help you lose the weight. I've lost 20 pounds on it so far since I had my daughter 8 months ago. I don't exercise much but the diet part has helped me alot. And the best part is it's free.
