Well, the moron did it. He made abortion Illegal after a heart beat can be detected (about 6 weeks), Illegal for genetic defects and require a Dr who performs an abortion to be a physician with hospital admiting privliges.

What an idiot! Can we say trouble on the rise!?!? He claims that he isn't doing this based on religious basis or on personal preference. Good politicians lie better than that.

doubt it. North Dakota is fighting it. The judge tabled it and it will go to court. I do know some states have made it illegal to have an abortion for "gender selection" reasons. I guess I can "understand" that to a "degree". I still think it is nobody's business but still, I understand why there is some regulation. If they keep the pro-lifers some what happy, they back off a tad. It is a blanket move. For that reason only I understand.

It will be overturned. It's unconstitutional to make abortion illegal. States can put up laws to make it hard to get one but they can't go too far and this is too far. It won't stick.

I sure hope not. SD has already effectively banned abortion outright as of 2006 I think.
It's awful what that man is trying to do. Making abortions illegal won't stop unwanted pregnancy. Women will just go back to the coat hanger days.

Typical, that a man that would not have a clue of what a woman will have to go through because of this "law" would try to make this decicion!
I hope it gets over turned.

Even though I think abortion is disgusting, I even think this law is a joke. They need to focus on mens abortion rights lol

It's not illegal in SD. No state can actually make it illegal to get an abortion they can only put ristrictions on it. It's against the constitution to outlaw abortion. That's why I say this law in ND is going to be thrown out bc it is effectively making abortion illegal bc most places won't even do one until 6wks and most people don't even know they're pregnant at 5wks. OK tried to do something similar a while ago and it passed but was later thrown out bc it was too ristrictive. There's not many abortion clinics in ND anyway from what I've been told so the law probably isn't really effecting women there but it's the principle of it that worries me. If its allowed in one state others will follow.

Some women can't afford to though.
This makes me extremely sad.. I hope something is done about this. Can the supreme court not over turn it? *I'm not too informed when it comes to steps to take to overturn laws in America*

I heard in SD they had something called the "Women's Reproductive pretection act" which pretty much banned it outright. but I am not entirely sure the details.
Hoping it gets over turned ASAP.
