Quoting Jennybananna:" I can be a huge deal if they aspirate the poop. You also have a risk of the placent deteriorating. Did ... [snip!] ... believe the risks of keeping baby in are greater than the risks of induction. Again my personal opinion based on my research. "

Thanks for sharing your opinion. So far, the placenta and heart rate are just fine.

My first ultrasound was during my second trimester. The baby was already all formed and everything.

Quoting lolajessup:" As long as the dr is watching you closely I don't see a problem waiting longer. You've went into labor on your own twice. I feel like your body knows what it's doing. Your dd could be off."

This is what I want to think too.

Better chances of your due date being off a bit. I dont there are any tests to see if the baby has passed meconium except for breaking your water. I would just do some of your own research and talk to your doctors about the risks then make an educated decision. One mom on here went to almost 44 weeks. Her baby did pass meconium but I dont believe they aspirated it.

Quoting mamiKrystal:" So, it's not necessarily a huge problem if they have a bowel movement. I guess I just didn't know that ... [snip!] ... that I got when I was already well into the pregnancy. I'm thinking the date is off, so the baby just simply isn't ready yet."

I DON'T WANT TO SAY ITS NOT AN ISSUE!

My daugher did it when my water broke, and had no signs of distress, so they just flushed me out with IV fluids, and let me labor on my own.

I also have known doctors to do an immediate C-Section because its present, but of course, it can cause the baby to still breathe it in. No birth is 100% fail-proof, but if you have no signs of amnio fluid decreasing or placenta deteriorating, then there is no reason to be induced as long as you and baby are fine.

Here is some credible information about going overdue that you may find helpful. Personally, knowing what I know, I feel perfectly comfortable going to 43 weeks, possibly longer - and I'm 100% certain of my due date.
