They both got tricycles at around 18 months..by their 2nd birthday they could pedal around pretty good..but didn't steer very well. My youngest still doesn't steer well he just turned two on the 7th..I don't remember when my oldest could steer by himself. It was before his 3rd bday though.

Quoting Man. Bear. Pig.:" That doesn't mean without training wheels though. That takes a LOT of balance and coordination."

Oh no I cant imagine a 3 year old without training wheels. Steering is hard as f**k for them plus having to steer and pedal. I think no.

Quoting Man. Bear. Pig.:" Do toddlers even have the fine motor skills to be able to do that? :?"

Most toddlers don't even have the fine motor skills to properly move a tricycle very well; much less maintain balance on a bicycle.

ETA: Pedal was a poor choice of word.

The coupon lady said hers was riding a bike without training wheels at 2. That's why I asked.. just seems... early, ya know?

My child is 2 weeks from 2. He just sits on the tile while I push him around. It's a lot easier, and more fun to stick him in the little car and push him around

I did a quick google search and read through a few forums. Avg age seems to be 5 to 6. However some did say their 3 (almost 4) year old were. Not one 2 year old though. I call BS on that.

2 year olds are horrible with the whole walking and running thing so I don't see how riding a bike without training wheels is possible.
