My first child... the one pictured in my avi is named Emma J. She has a middle initial (not a name). The "J" stands for both of her grandmothers.... whose names begin with "J." Now, if I had know how popular that name was, I would have picked something else. She goes to daycare with 4 other Emmas. I really would like her to have her own identity in daycare & school. However, I don't do "made-up" names. So, everyone calls her "EJ"

My dh & I named her 3 years before we even decided to have kids... We were on a cruise and waiting in a long line... we named all of our kids and pets... We never thought to do a "popularity check"... but she is such a comedian... so she doesn't care, anyways... We named our second girl Lucienne Rose. I am finding that a lot of people don't know how to say it. So we tell them to just call her Luci.
