besides the OP, yes.

Its abusive and can burn their taste buds. What kind of behavior deserves that punishment. You're supposed to discipline kids to respect you in the end, not fear you.

That's why I was confused. I don't support it at all either but I've heard if for lying biting etc not behavior she described

I don't know if that was directed towards her putting hot sauce in her childs mouth but I'm 20 and wouldn't dare do shit like that so i don't agree with it having to do with her age, just ignorance.

ETA: I didn't read the rest of the posts.

No this post was not about putting hot sauce in someone's mouth but that's what it turned into and what ppl decided to focus on. Hot sauce was only used when he was talking back or saying potty talk after many warnings. I have that as an example of a punishment we use for some of his behaviors. Not saying we use it for every bad thing hes done or ever so often A drop of hot sauce is not going to burn anyone's taste buds stop freaking exhagerating. It's literally a drop with a cup of milk on hand just to teach them not to repeat the bad things he said. It's an old way of disciplining and kids back in the day had way more respect for their parents then they do now. . We all know I'm this awful person for ever doing it even though it was never me who personally put it in his mouth it was my SO's because he is the father and has the right to do that but yes I support him in doing it. It has worked for his othe kids and on occasions worked for the 4 year old. And I don't eve know how age has anything to do with it? My SO is 33 and is doing it so does that make him immature? No that's something he was raised on and it's his way of disciplining heaven forbid. Omg omg I'm 20 and I know better blah blah blah nobody cares how old u are ppl do it at any age. My day care lady who is hobestly the best parent I know suggested vinegar. It's even grosser than hot sauce and obviously putting soap, hot sauce, vinegar is more common than most of u realize.

Honey I'm sure there are lots of things you do that me and other ppl wouldn't think is right either. But a drop of hot sauce makes them complain for literally 1 minute then they are off doing their thing and normally have learned from it. Obviously u feel very strongly that this happens because u were the one to start all the commotion about the hot sauce and claim that it's abusive and it will burn off their taste buds lol sorry but that just makes me laugh. Hot sauce is meant for food. If one little drop of hot sauce was going to do that I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to sale it. Anyway it's something I've always heard of and it never seemed wrong to me one bit till this post. I'm sorry you were so offended by this and to anyone else that found a drop of hot sauce so appalling lol. I think I'm done hear because this forum has turned out to be a waste of time. Anyway thanks for the good laugh on your dramatic comments OP
