"who the hell drops in to ask that?" lol.

but since i commented, i might as well respond to OP.

My daughter is only 10 months old. Before i had her, i watched 2 kids. from 10-11 months till 3 yrs for the girl and 4-8 years for the boy. i've also seen a lot of kids with behavioral issues. 99.99% of the time it's from emotional issues that ABUSING a 4 yr old with hot sauce is just going to make it worse IMO. Not saying i'd use it at that point either but i couldn't see doing it on a child younger than 10 or 11. you know, old enough to comprehend what's going on with him.

as for suggestions, they're right with parenting classes, what could it hurt? you want advice and help but feel you're not getting it here. try the one piece of advice that would DEFINITELY provide you with suggestions. a parent class will help train you in more productive ways of parenting.

Were you given hot sauce as a kid? My mom did it ONE time after I ran around the house swearing and it fucking hurts. I was older than 4 at the time to so I can only imagine how it feels for that poor boy. Even though the sting went away after a little bit, my mouth was sore and my taste was off for the rest of the day. Also, to this day I can't stand hot sauce.

Quoting Mama Fia♥:" am i the only one that doesnt see it as a big deal to put a dab of hot sauce in a kids mouth? jesus. theres a differnce in pouring it in his mouth and a dab."

What's a dab going to do? Pretty much nothing so the point of it is void. I highly doubt she was putting a dab of it in his mouth. And depending on the brand and type, even just a dab can seriously burn your mouth.

I'm an adult and have no tolerance for spicy foods...so hot sauce in my mouth would be seriously painful, and I would not inflict that on anyone else, let alone a child.

Quoting ⚓ Sarah ⚓:" besides the OP, yes. Its abusive and can burn their taste buds. What kind of behavior deserves that punishment. You're supposed to discipline kids to respect you in the end, not fear you."

my mom used a dab on our tongue when i was younger if we said a cuss word. and i only remember her doing it like twice.
