For a kid to eat if they have the stomach virus? Macie has Rotavirus (a very severe stomach virus). She was hospitalized for three days....She ate popcorn lastnight, but today she hasn't ate a thing.... Shes really weak and just laying around. But she's drinking water & pedialyte and is able to hold it down... She hasn't had dierreah since about 9 this morning.

It's best to focus on fluids. If they can eat and keep it down, great, but it's more important for them to stay hydrated.

As long as she's staying hydrated I wouldn't worry.

It's hard not to worry when she is laying around lifeless. She's gotten up and played a couple of times today but she has to lay down and take breaks.... She's had this for going on 5 days now.

It is hard. You can call the dr and ask. But I was always told to offer crackers and plain toast(for 48 hours AFTER the throwing up and diareah stop) and push as much fluids as possible.

Nope... Nothing. Im going to try to get her to eat a yogurt when she starts feeling better.

She just ate two crackers, and then wanted some cereal.. I gave her some with just a tiny bit of milk.. Hoping it stays down.
